Are Habs fans the best in the world?

Just thinking of it and the dark era Habs overcomes and still, the Bell center sells out every night.

So much history, adversity and passion. This year like every other, if we make the playoff, we can't be ignored. Did we sell out the preseason games?

I tryed back in the late 90s to cheer for Vancouver. I lived their but still, The HAbs are special to me.

They don't always have the superstars, the Analise support but they have the fans, and thats us!

IMO, We are the best fans in the world. It's a marage...for better or for worst.

it's a different scaled. I'm sure if we could fit 100000 people in the stand, we would sell out.

Every sports fan thinks that their fan base is the best.

I'm sure you wouldn't, you weren't selling out all time time during the Trembly - Houle era anyways

Well, we certainly have to be some of the most passionate.

Habs win - ****ing Stanley Cup baby! We're ****ing awesome! Start the parade!

Habs lose - Holy ****, we suck . Fire Gainey, Carbo and make some ****ing changes before we **** up the whole season.

Certain player scores - Sign him to an extension now! What a player

Certain player has a bad game - My god he's useless. Get that piece of **** off this team!

etc...

As much as Habs fans are good, you're correct in this regard. Toronto sells out on a consistent basis with some of the highest ticket prices in the league despite the success of the team -- or lack thereof.

Part of that has to do with the number of corporate seats, but it also has to do with undying belief in their team.

With that being said, I think Montreal lives and dies more with their team than any other hockey franchise. They're more emotionally connected.

You can't compare seat sales in TO and Mtl as most seats in Toronto are sold to big business, which is why their "fans" appear to be so dead and quiet during games.

I'm proud that fans don't buy tickets when the team is run by morons and is killing the on ice product. Do you honestly think the Leafs would get away with their perpetual mediocrity if ticket sales went down?

I'm not sure Hab fans are the best fans, but we are the most volatile. We'll love you the best when you win and dog you the hardest when you give less than 100%.

Honestly, given the current context, I think Montreal could sell out 25 000+ all-year long.

perfect example is Ryder.

Almost every single person here wanted him off this team no matter what. Now that he's gone hot for the last little while, people are already talking about re-signing the guy..

Hey man you asked, don't disregard my post just because you don't like what it says.

Anyway..

I truly believe that for all the hooplah that's made about how the ACC atmosphere sucks, if the proportion of corporate-to-fan seating was the same in the ACC as it is in the Bell Centre, it would be just as rocking.

Best in the world? No. Best in hockey? Maybe, depending on your criteria.

I was not against him leaving, but only for his own good and that of the Habs, but I've always been supportive of Mikey and have always wished that we'd keep him and that he'd do great.

Fans who are negative of Ryder are much too centered on their belief that they know what's good for the team, when actually, they know nothing of what goes on behind closed doors and in the player's personal lives. Those kinda of fans remind me of political know-it-all who are extreme partisans of one line of thought and can't adapt the thinking process to include all variables and solutions. In other words : MY SOLUTIONS ARE THE BEST.

Those kinda fans, we could do without.

No..

I'm a Gunners fan, but I'm pretty impressed by the way the Liverpool fans are treating Tom Hicks Jr. etc (I feel bad for Uncle George though, I think he could've done it by himself). I also love the sweet @$$ chant "****** Off Chelsea!"

Hab fans need to come up with some stuff like that too. After we brung Olé Olé in from Soccer, we need a song like "****** Off Lea-eafs!/Bru-uins"

Where do I have to give my resignation ?
I'm not the biggest Ryder fan since a couple of years...
But I appreciate his character and attitude just not the way he controls the puck !

Having been in a couple different NHL arenas, I have to say the Bell Center is far and beyond the more electrifying.

I understand TO fans have sold out games through 40+ years of garbage, but is that because they are passionate fans or just plain.. dumb? J/K

Like many others have stated, its probably a toss up between the two.. I think the Leaf fanbase is probably larger, but i think the Habs fanbase is far more passionate.

My only question is : how would you react if the Habs kept him?

1- BG is dumb
2- Ryder isn't worth it
3- Well, we'll see
