I think Grabs is gonna be fine this time around but if need be I think Chips would be the guy. I feel like his style game is the perfect fit for the playoffs and I'd love to see him get the chance to show what he's got on that platform.

He's not on the Hamilton playoff roster, so he won't be sent down

Let him get some time. It worked for Higgins, Plekanec and Kostitsyn. It'll work for him as well.

But that doesn't mean he won't be sent to the pressbox if he's ineffective...

For the record I'm not sold on grabs, as I don't think he has the strength to play in the NHL.

Personally I'd love if Chips was given another shot. He seems like a playoff type player.

That's exactly my thinking as well. Grabs is not the most secure guy to have out there in our own zone....Even as young as he is, we would need a Chipchura against tougher and smarter opposition. Chipchura's defensive instincts are NHL oriented already.

True, but it does indicate that the organization has faith in him.

He has barley put on skates in the NHL and people are already think he might be a failure? Why not have confidence and think we will win our division and have success in the playoffs??
And he wont fail

anyone remember if last year Price was on the Hamilton playoff roster?
didn't he just join the Bulldogs after his team failed to make the playoff?

If that's the case, maybe Hamilton playoff roster isn't something that absolutely definitive...

anyway, i like Grabs but i like Freddy more

Chipchura showed he was NHL ready. I honestly think they only called up Grabovski to see if he can translate his AHL success to the NHL and if he's consistent he stays.

Yes it is, the only reason why Price could play is because he was signed after that list was released

i.e. Maxwell could join Hamilton this year

Chipchura for sure. I really never wanted this guy sent back down. Hes bigger, taller, (than Grabovski) moves the puck well and has that defensive style we need on the bottom 2 lines.

Being not sold on doesn't mean failure. We're at the most crunch time of the season where everything gets tougher and add to that the playoffs when it gets also tougher, Grabovski lack of strength and lack of defensive awareness may become a problem. Now if he starts racking the points at the same rhythm he did in the AHL, we won't care about that too much do we? But then, we'll he be able to that, let's wait and see.

I'll let the true deciders decide. They have the knowledge and capacity to make those decisions as they are much more aware of all the variables, possibilities and aptitudes of the players mentionned and the needs of the team.

But, as a personal inclination, I'd like to see both Chips and Grabs be on the team.

We need to give Grabovski a fair shot. He can't be stuck on the 4th line with players that have no offensive skill. Grabs is very offensive minded so he needs to play with players that are the same way. But if he isn't doing good enough, then we should move him to the wing and give Smolinski another chance. He is a decent faceoff man and his veteran experience should help down the stretch.

Me too. Chips is going to be a core player in the NHL someday soon.

If Grabovski doesn't work out, I'm sure Carbo will go back to Smoke since he has the playoff experience. This is a very young team and while we want them to learn, I have no problem mixing in veterans for some games. So I'm sure if any of the kids are underperforming, guys like Smoke and Dandenault who have been to the big show will get some ice time.
