only problem is that every NFL interception leader has had a brutal season follwing their great one....but he is not going to hurt the Eagles...

I'm not so sure about this. My personal feeling is Samuel is overrated (he makes lots of shiny interceptions, but he's way too aggressive sometime and will overcommit to try and pick off the pass), but I don't run an NFL team. I think they would be better off getting safety help, upgrading the D-line, and looking for a WR that can make plays. But it's early...we'll see what happens.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with Sheppard now.

He wears #22
http://store.philadelphiaeagles.com/...=5269&FID=4902

He actually had a down year last year with 6 Ints, he had 10 the year before. I think he'll fit in perfect here.

Good signing for the Eagles, but their defense is thinning out quicker than people realize. I have Eagles fans texting me right now like this is Owens in '04, the move that puts the Eagles over the top, and it is not

Not until they get some linebackers.

Saints get Vilma for a conditional 4th

there linebackers are fine

Spikes-Gaithier-Gocong with bradley and gocong behind

they need a:
#1 WR- this is where lito could be involved; roy williams, larry fitz; plz no walker-knees are broken
DE- they are about to get clemons, pass rushing specialist
RS-return specialist; could be done in draft
FB- tapeh signed with minnesota; Jason davis is here now
3rd DT- booger mcfarland is a good option-just releaed by colts
2nd OT of the future- could be where 1st pick is used-Williams from vanderbilt
---Runyan and Thomas are older-both contracts done after this year; have

Eagles main problems last year were getting turnovers, and pressure on the QB. They addressed the issue with turnovers with Samuel. There aren't any big time pass rushers available but they look like there signing Chris Clemons from The Raiders who had 8 sacks. There making progress.

I was going to post this in the OT thread, but since there's an Eagles thread, I'll ask it here:

what's the opinion of the masses on the Eagles releasing Jevon Kearse? I haven't followed football that closely for the last couple years but he was a beast from what I remember. Was he just too costly to keep on the roster?

had knee and foot issues due to injuries sustained in past 2-3 years. lost most of speed. not worth 7 mil or w/e he was making. had to be released. will get a job somewhere for an incentive laiden deal

he was both old and injured all the damn time. Making way too much for how often he did get hurt, and the Eagles needed to free up some money for Samuel, I suppose.

Kearse as stated had a real nasty knee injury and hasn't recovered from that.

Good signing for the eagles.

Keep it up though, still some pieces left.

Difference-making WR, d-line, LBs are pretty fine IMO, KR obviously.

I don't know why the eagles don't go after Andre Davis he had a good year last year with 3 kickoff returns and filled in nicely for andre johnson when he was injured. Unless they don't wanna spend that much on a kickoff returner guy.

If this means Sheppard is on his way out, it's just a small upgrade. If it means Brown moves to safety, that's a hell of a starting bunch (with Samuel, Sheppard, Brown and Dawkins) with crap for depth. If it means we have three starting quality corners I'm pretty thrilled if we can pick up a safety somewhere. Good signing overall though. If only we could fix that pesky qb position...

Could be a great signing for them.

Can this forum talk about the Sixers once and a while?! Everyone of my friends who are hardcore Philly sports fans laughed at me when i said they were a decent team and could slide into the playoffs if they develop well this season. Needless to say, they aren't laughing at my prediction now.

I just had to get that off my chest.

The Texans re-signed Andre Davis yesterday...I was hoping for him as well.

PS: Yes, I am an Eagles fan despite growing up in NY.
