Those are always the best. I love watching Montreal beat Boston around, but right now I would rather take Philly.

I would love nothing more than going 12-0 against the pooh-bears this season, but if we meet in the playoffs I do not think we would sweep them.

Pittsburgh, so we can sweep 'em and I can troll their boards.

I have waited a long time to get even with the Canes for Koivu's eye, Markov's head taken off and a ton of other noncalls on high sticks for that entire series.
Yes I have a long memory.

I'm one of the few who chose Ottawa, cause I have a feeling they won't go far this year (maybe not even beyond the first round) and won't be so hard to beat. Their goaltending is way too shaky to go far and team confidence seems low overall. Plus the added roster players kinda hurts their team chemistry problem even further.
On top of that the team is based in Ontario which makes them doomed from that start

For all we know,Patrice Bergeron may be back in time for the playoffs, which would make them even more formidable.
I agree. Also, I don't see why Carolina isn't a possibility. The Habs could easily finish 6th this season. They would be my first choice. All others except Boston would be about the same.

I'm pretty sure that the most entertaining series would be against Boston, but it doesn't mean that it would be the easiest team to beat.

Philly has the weakest Goaltending and is dependant on their powerplay.

Habs PPlay >> Philly PPlay

I don't worry about any teams in the East, but won't mind NOT playing Pittsburgh or New Jersey in the first round. Pittsburgh, because they have the potential, with Crosby, Malkin, Hossa, to have the best offence in the East, and New Jersey because of Brodeur.

Like someone said before: Anyone except New-Jersey...which will likely not happen

I think we have the best chances against:

Boston
Philly
NYR

I remember a few years ago, when Boston wanted to face us in teh playoffs, and we got up from 3-1 to win 4-3.

Karma's a *****, so I voted Philly.

From a Bruins fan thank you gang.

I thought I'd read a lot of stuff bashing the Bruins, but instead I'm kind of seeing some compliments coming our way from some Hab fans.

Personally I'd like to play the Habs also. I think it would help our young guys out knowing what its like to play in a series that has such a great history. Plus I'd hope it would give our guys more of an energy boost if the Habs go on to take the last two remaining games.

Have to admit it would be sweet if we met in the Conference Finals.

Theres another out for Habs-Canes series happening too.

Carolina could very well end up being 8th seed too, reinforced Capitals are 5 points behind with 2 more games to play ... so if Habs win the east...

But ... I want Leafs.

I think this year more then any year it doesn't matter who we play because I think any matchup is going to be tough. I think you could take every matchup right now in either conference and make a good case for either team winning. Parity is all over and it's going to make for some intense, tight and exciting playoff hockey. Of course that will be a lot more fun the farther our team goes

Are you so people so sure that NJD finishes 1st in division? I think it's not that unlikely that Pitt wins their division, and Devils are 4th&5th with us. Although, nobody wouldn't pick them even if they were in the options.

Also, it's not that unlikely that we would finish 6th. The race for the top spots in the east is tighter than ever at this point.

I picked Boston, cause it would be a great series and we have great history of winning them. I also don't think it would be a sweep or easy but definately a great series.

My picks:
1 Boston
2 Carolina / Washington
Wouldn't be too tough to beat and avenge against CAR would be sweet.
3 Philadelphia
We play well against them and the games are fun to watch.
4 Pittsburgh
These games are also fun to watch, and their defense isn't very good.
5 Ottawa
We have all the chances to beat them, and they're struggling, but they're still probably my 1st pick to get to the finals.
6 New York Rangers
A team that plays well defensively and is physical. Good goaltender.
Season series 3-1 for them. Nuff said.
7 New Jersey
... Nuff said.

If Buffalo somehow managed to get into the playoffs they would be 2nd, 3rd or 4th.

Problem with facing Boston is that they are due for a win against us. Remember a few years back, they killed us in the regular season and we beat them in the playoffs. Just seems like the opposite could happen this year.

I would rather face Philly. To be honest none of the matchups are very appealing to me. I would ideally want to face the Islanders if possible.

I'd like to see us face the Bruins. Not because the Habs have had regular season success against them (which is meaningless come playoff time) but because it would be an extremely intense matchup.
