Worst Playoff Loss During The Drought?

Of all the playoff losses during the playoff drought prior to the magical 2004 run, which one was the worst?

Oh god, I don't think anything can compare to that Oilers loss
We had two players in the theo and chopper 10 ten in points in the league
2nd in the Smyth division, 20 points up on Edmonton
and we go down 3-1 in the series
force it to game 7
then lose in overtime
Nothing compares
NOTHING

I think the loss to San Jose was especially hard to stomach. The Flames were so massively favoured, and we were supposed to be able to count on our "rising superstar" in Trevor Kidd.

The image of him hanging his head in shame on the back of the net still haunts me, and I was five when that happened!

How can it be anything but Pavel Bure in game 7 OT?

for sure the '94 series loss to the nucks... we were up 3 games to 1 and then loss games 5 and 6 in OT. then of course that all set up the bure breakaway winner in double OT.

the canucks went all the way to the finals, and gave their fans the only thing they've had to cheer about since '82.

I'm no Flames fan, but my sister is, and the '91 loss to the Oilers is the only time I've seen her visibly upset from a hockey game.

Can't vote, but '91 was pretty tough. I remember after the game 6 win how I thought it was just impossible for the Flames to lose game 7.

Losing to San Jose in 1995 is worse than losing to Vancouver in 1994. Calgary was outscoring the Sharks through out the series....AND STILL LOST!

However, losing to Chicago in four straight was a straight out embarrassment

San José in 95. Fleury was on fire 14 P in 7 G, right?

Hey guys, I'm an Oilers fan but the first thing I would like to say is that this isn't intended to be an Oilers fan gloating or anything....lord knows we've had nothing to gloat about for 2 years now. But having said that, you guys were up 3-0 in game 7 vs the Oil and your guys blew it. That game completely changed when Vernon let in that garbage goal and gave the Oilers all the momentum. I know the Canucks series was bad because there was a 3-1 lead, I know the Sharks series was bad because you were head and shoulders better then them, but the Oilers should have lost game 7 in 91 and the Flames choked.
