Reality check time for me He'll be a good steal in the later rounds like Mikhail Stefanovich.

But luckily Joonas Nattinen and Erik Haula could still entertain a 25-50 pick.
Hmm, he was injured in the fall, but after that he has been healthy. And it isnt like he is injury prone or anything. 1st-2nd round pick, we will see. Nättinen also 1st-2nd round, Haula 2nd-3rd. Kivistö, hmm, maybe 7th round, if he gets lucky But seriously, he has been terrible in every game I´ve seen, so max 2nd round for him.

I may have mispoken. Pulkkinen has been injured more than once this season.

Tommi Kovisto was overhyped I think.

Kivistö made some mistakes, but the potential is there. He's a good skater with fairly good puck skills. On the other hand I believe that Haula won't be going in the first two rounds.

My opinion of top Finns in 2009:
1. Toni Rajala (1st-3rd rnd)
2. Joonas Nättinen (1st-3rd rnd)
3. Tommi Kivistö (2nd-5th rnd)
4. Mikko Koskinen (3rd-5th rnd)
5. Erik Haula (3rd-5th rnd)
6. Sami Vatanen (4th-7th rnd)
7. Joni Ortio (5th-7th rnd)
8. Kristian Näkyvä (6th-7th rnd)

It might suit him to not declare himself eligible for this year's draft (if that's possible)and instead concentrate on next year's draft. He could go first or second round then.

I see Manelius more as a Lasse Kukkonen type of defender; a bit undersized, a great team player with lots of determination and great character, so the first two rounds might be a bit too much to ask. He will be a great defender in SM-liiga as long as he stays healty, but as far as NHL goes he probably won't be more than a third pairing defenseman.

It's a pity that he didn't get a chance to play in SM-liiga before his season ending injury. I believe that it would have improved his status a lot. For some odd reason NHL central scouting had him below Rasmus Rissanen, Teemu Eronen, Tony Vidgren and Jesse Jyrkkiö in their Preliminary Rankings in November.

9 goals for Rajala at the U-18.

Does this send him back up the draft rankings a bit? From the bits I saw of today's game he looked really good.

Yes he was really good and he also scored in the shootout along with Teemu Pulkkinen.

And his 18 points ties him with Ovechkin for the tournament record.

19 points. He holds the record alone. GWG was credited to him.

I am pretty sure he will be picked late 1st/early 2nd and at worst mid 2nd . I would really want the Leafs to take a chance on Toni Rajala if he is available in the 2nd round .

After re-watching the game in its entirety, it will be a crime if this guy doesn't go in round 1. Amazing hands, terrific speed, great shot and plenty of dekes. He also wasn't scared to go to the net.

I believe Rajala is the real deal...very impressive in this tournament...it's a shame the CSS Final rankings come out prior to this tournament

Finland has one hell of a prospect in their hands. That was an exciting performance Rajala put on tonight with Granlund. They could be two of the most skilled kids that aren't drafted yet.
