The price would be extremely high. Gagne, Pitkanen, and Carter type high. He's their poster child. He's one of the top power forwards in the game today and one of the few faces and names of recognition within the Phoenix community. He's their MVP and dealing him could likely kill all the positive PR they have had in recent weeks.

No way in hell the Coyotes trade their brand new captain and leading scorer. They've been extremely patient waiting for Doan to emerge, no chance they trade him now. Same thing with Nagy. These are young, inexpensive, point-per-game players we are talking about.

If you move Doan, you better have already organised the franchise to be moved to Portland.

no one is untradeable...so it depends on how much clark would give up to get him.give more than his percieved value and you won't hear many yotes fans complaining

But Doan's perceived value is so much higher than his actual value, there is no way Clarke would be willing to give up half as much as us Coyotes fans would want.

No one is untradable, i agree, but it would make no sense right now both in business as in sporting terms. This far in a season you would unsettle the coaching staff, the entire team whoever you bring in as replacement. Plus, any players from the Flyers that could match the trade would be much more expensive which is the last thing the Coyotes want right now, before the CBA.
It is a long time that the management it getting prepared for the CBA and the building of the new Arena has imposed very strict financial limits. Both Nagy and Doan are within those limits. Many of the top executives are financially involved in a big commercial gamble what goes beyond the team: The Glendale arena is the start point of a new town being built. So don't expect them to shift strategy from a day to the other.

Clarke has been known to overpay *cough* Markov....Oates *cough*

My guess is with Gagne's lack luster play hed be the first to be moved if Clarke were to make another deal.

The Oates trade yes he overpayed, but the Markov trade was fair IMO and Justin
Williams was my current favorite flyer, but Markov has been great so far, logging
almost 25 mins a game, plus being on the PP/PK. Williams is a great young player
but as most of our teams favorite players we seem to overvalue them a bit.

True i guess. You have some good young forwards in the system but a lot are centers. Would have rather you traded Handzus.

Also they seem to think Sharp will take over for J Will.
