so let me get this straight
jovo gets a penalty at 19:21
habs on power play 5 on 4
at 19:38 morris and A.ko get matching minors
so habs stay on power play right?
WRONG Mcgoooooo insists its 4 against 4 to finish the game
WOW what a league
thank god he didnt call a hand pass on the Markov goal.

Seriously tho...how did sergei kostitsyn keep his stick on the ice, ..what a smart player, after i would of made that pass my hands are already up in the air cuz of a higgins goal, and of course, higgins, like he did with ryder a couple of times this year, passes it RIGHT back to turn a 75% goal into a 100% one

I dont think ive seen a better REPPASSER on a 2 on1 than higgins

Yes, very disgraceful. Carbonneau must be pretty mad. Anyway, I am, this is a pure robbery.

Yeah, the Yotes drafted him in the 4th round in 2004, pretty light player id say. Never hits anyone.

I love Price, I can't believe the Habs have him, I've been waiting for years for a player with that type of impact. I thought Theodore was going to be that guy, boy was I wrong. Price though, how amazing is he for a 20 year old?

I liked most of the forwards, they got better as the game went along. Tough first period, but Price shut the door and gave the Habs a chance for the the win.
And those guys are the captain and two alternates, going after Hamrlik and Kovalev for no reason at all in a lost cause. What a gutless display. I find it funny that this comes from a Gretzky team, the guy who whined about how fighting and cheap shots were ruining the game of hockey. The same guy who benefited perhaps more than anyone else from simian-like enforcers like Semenko. And his leaders go around like a bunch of lumberwhack-offs after the Habs top players when the game is clearly lost. It reflects badly on him, though I admit that I've never liked him anyway.

Lucky win, all in all. Phoenix gave the better effort for most of the game, but Price and the PP bailed the Habs out. A lot of players were bad tonight, like Ryder. Others played pretty well but made some key mistakes, like Lapierre and his penalties. But he still had a good game, especially along the boards in the defensive zone. SKostitsyn had a terrible first two periods, but managed to get better and score an important goal.

They'll have to be better against Anaheim, a more talented, experienced and tough team. Even against LA. You don't get to steal points like that very often.

So I keep reading about Doan and Jovo' gooning it up at the end? What would they actually do??Start throwing fists for no reason? Some stick work again on one of our players' knee?

--Edit-- It seems it was on Kovalev/Harmlik thx to the post by davedave. Was there some elbow? Charging??

I started really really really fearing Sunday's game as soon as I saw Colorado win 1-0 over them, don't worry.

I agree that the Yotes played with more intensity than the Habs, but I believe the Habs ended up beating Phoenix with talent alone. Phoenix is a lunch bucket team who has to really work hard for their goals. Habs were outmuscled and outhustled for 2/3 of the game, but still won with their talent alone. They'll need to forecheck better the next game and win the battles on the boards.

That goal was what is was. Weak. Like others last game.

But winning matters, and the team won tonight.
Let's agree on that.

Jovanovski basically harassed Kovalev along the boards, taking off his helmet and then wacking him with his stick. Thankfully he didn't get Kovalev good with the stick but the intent was pretty clear. Morris hit Hamrlik behind the leg with his stick and Doan tried to go after Hamrlik after the Morris penalty. Pretty gutless by the Coyotes in the last minute if you ask me, there was absolutely no reason for this.

My Game Takes

Jovonoski is a *****

Carey played great (but still goes down too easy imo)

Higgins should have shot (but I'll still take the goal)

Kovy was awesome

We were lucky to win after the way we played the first 50 minutes

Darren Pang (PHO broadcaster) was pretty solid until he turned into a PHO homer in the last 10 minutes

Jovonoski is still a *****
