the teams not playing THAT bad. They are playing opportunistic with good goaltending and turning it on at the right times. I don't know how people expect them to spend 60 mins of each game in the opposing end. They have played similar to this all year on the road with great results. In SJ when they got behind they opened it up a little more but couldn't capitalize on the chances they created (plus there was no puck luck at all that night).
I'll expect something similar tommorrow against ANH. Hopefully our defense holds and we keep it close into the 3rd.
1st in the east or not, its not realistic to expect the team to skate circles around the opposition every night.
Am I the only one satisfied with their 5-1 record in the last 6 games?
That's what good teams do, they win even if they've played bad. But there's no way this is going to work against Anaheim.
You can be sure they wont play like that tomorrow. To me, it wasnt luck at all, they did just enough to win. If you think that shot totals mean something than thats where you are wrong. The Habs are not the number one offense in the league for nothing, they dont waste the puck like many teams in the league do. Phoenix and L.A shot the puck from any angle possible, many were armless. The Habs prefer to control the play and wait for the best shot possible which often result to a good scoring chance.
If other teams want to pad up the stats of our goalies by shooting from any spot on the ice then good, we'll keep on winning.
Honestly, I think the last 3 games have been 3 of our worst games all year.
We could be in for a major league ass-kicking the next 2 games if we don't smarten up.
I don't want to sound too negative, but I've been appalled by our play on this trip. Defencemen can't make a single pass to the forwards, forwards can't control the puck or forecheck to save their lives. Constant running around our own zone, then icing the puck and starting all over. It's pure luck and bad goaltending that we are 2-1.
Is it the bad ice, fatigue/ the flu? I don't know. But I just want to see us playing the way we can.
