A Price-pimping thread was absolutely, positively necessary for the main board after last night's win. I would have preferred a better title but what can you do eh.
Whenever someone starts a thread, he should choose a neutral title, as CdHC did for Price's shutout, but the first post is going to influence the whole thread, so you just CAN'T start picking on others, whatever the reason is, or else it's going to be another bashing thread.
I believe that a neutral description of what happenned + some love for the event is sufficient. If I had started a thread, I would have mentionned the shutout, the returning of a trip in the West, the fact that the first place in the conference was concerned AND the 1m30s ovation by the fans.
The alleged drop in our collective reputation is wildly overstated. Fact is, there are a handful of seemingly ever present posters who feel compelled to make an appearance in every Hab related thread. These dimwits almost exclusively deal in generalizations, hyperbole and strawmen arguments. My personal favourites are the ironically challenged types who like to claim that we Canadien fans are infatuated with their team.
Wow, has it reach an all-time low? I mean, I'm not whining or anything but is it me or everywhere I go on these boards, I see insults on us or on the Habs? Everyone says they're not scared of the Habs and that we're soft and that we suck and that the fans are delusional.
Are we that bad or what?
We are delusional. I mean today I woke up this morning, checked NHL.com and saw we were in 1st place in the east, total delusions
Thats what you do when your team isn't making the playoffs and has been swept by the team in 1st place *cough*philly*cough*bruins*cough*, excuse me.. erm, yes, thats what you do when your team is never winning games, whine about another team that is doing well.
If you ask me, the only delusions are of those who think the habs are soft, considering we do have the most goals for in the NHL... so obviously our offense isn't a problem. With Komisarek/Markov/Hamrlik being 3 of the best D-men in the east and Streit being a close-to, I'd say our defense isn't looking too bad either. With a healthy brisebois at 700k and a bunch of other smart moves done by our management to secure our team and make sure we have a backup plan, I don't see how our management or coaching staff could be "soft" or "bad".
If you ask me, a person who says another team sucks when they're in first place, is the one who is delusional.
Watch the first minute of this video and it should all be clear to you.
Just replace the word 'country' with 'team'
great video.
Still there has been a huge shift in the overreacting parties. I really don't see much Habs fans make overtly-pretentious-self-glorifying-ridiculous-proclamations threads on the main board. And the few Hab related threads with deserved congratulatory content about the teams significant accomplishments are blindly flamed by 75% of the board. Rare are the decent, respectful hockey conversations with a non-Hab fans without them turning into a war of words. Those who are intelligent enough to debate eloquently without the unnecessary bashing are few but whom I remember. This board is aggressive and the prejudice attitude towards Canadiens' fans is pretty obvious...

I would have to disagree. Mainly on the NHL board. There are so many kneejerk threads started by Hab fans that when we start a legitimate thread 80% of the replies are commenting on the pertinance of the thread rather than it's content.
I wonder what would happen to HF if Habs fans don't post for a month. My guess, it'll die. We're like the vegetables in the HF diet. Not everyone like us, but we're what keeps it healthy and strong.

And half of them are about how you'll at least get moral victory
1 or 2 people said that. Don't blame the entire fan base. Similair to the entire point of this thread there are always a few that wreck it for everybody. You must fall under that catagory as well.
