Anyone else hate that when we score

we have to hear U2...ahhh i hate that song.

i cant stand it, it has nothing to do with sports, its not exciting or a song that pumps u up. where is our old goal song?

i guess its a good days in habland when that is all we have to complain about!

I don't care anymore. I hated it at first but I've grown to like it because I hear it so damn much

I still don't like it much but it has definitely grown on me; I think our goal horn flows into the song pretty well.

It would be a fantastic surprise if they brought back the old one for the playoffs though!

I'm used to it now but i'd still like to get our old song back. It was much much more fitting and better reflected the Habs imho.

It definitely sucks that Fix You and Vertigo are associated with the Habs.

Sign that the team is doing well: we complain about the goal song

I'd prefer hearing Alive and Amplified....

Now THAT would be a goal song.

I was at school the other day and I was watching the live score updates on my PC.. When I saw the score change and the Habs went up by one, The part "I can feelllll, feelllllllllllllllll!!" from Vertigo popped into my head.. HA HA!! I've heard it so many times that my subconscious knew the song was playing..

Actually, the whole intro is awesome.

i) U2 - Bad
ii) Okenfold - Ready Steady Go!
iii) Coldplay - Fix You

Can anyone write a song for the greatest team in sport?

Dallas Stars got a song by Pantera and nothing for the Habs?

After hearing it so many times, I have to say I like it, ok the old one was better, but this one is also ok for me...No need to change it for now! Like someone else said, everytime there's a goal it has become an habit, I begin to sing before the goal horn does.

My problem with Fix You stems from my distaste for Coldplay that began in 2005 upon the release of X&Y. Such a lifeless, insincere record so it "somewhat" pains me to know it is used to help usher the Habs onto the ice.

I understand the portion of the song they use can easily stir up emotion but there are thousands of other mainstream and lesser known tunes alike that can evoke the same feelings, produced by artists and groups that didn't mysteriously have their souls sucked out of them upon the last chord of the song "Amsterdam".

Ditto for U2 except they haven't been good for 20 years and Bono IS the record.

If I were head of marketing or whatever department takes care of this stuff, I wouldn't have any mainstream songs affiliated with the team. Keep the club bigger than life itself!

Not losing a single ounce of sleep over it mind you but music, serious business.

I would go for a simple loud as hell horn sound.

When we play in New York against the Islanders, or in Toronto against the Maple Leafs, and those team score a goal, we hear that loud sound, and I'm always angry. I have to guess that the Habs are also angry, and it's destabilizing a bit...

I think we should have the same thing, as it's good for us, but so damn annoying for the opposition...

I just thought of something. You know when Lisa Simpson ends up in the wrong school and all those kids laugh in French? I've always liked the Caps goal horn.

You couldn't be more wrong. U2 is awesome, agreed their best stuff is behind them, nobody can reach their level of musical perfection.

Vertigo is not the best goal song, but it's grown on me too.

But one thing we agree on, i can't stand coldplay.
