I think we should have the same thing, as it's good for us, but so damn annoying for the opposition...
so true, when the Habs play in another place and the home team scores, i mute the TV to make sure i dont hear that ******* horn. It pisses me off.

You is such an average band. Two or three good songs, but tons of crap too. "It's a beautiful day!" Ugh...

I do the same thing most of the time...imagine the horn with the fan factor! We would be unbeatable...

Damn the anti-U2 debate again. Obviously some people don't like them, but it's extremely hard to argue with the quality of their catalogue. You may not be a fan, but the "they suck" argument is infantile.

Vertigo isn't my favorite song, but it's certainly not bad. And it sounds pretty sweet when we hear it, doesn't it? So that's all that matters.

Plus, if you really are a U2-hater, you should be happy that we're making all opposing NHL teams haters as well.

U2 sucks, but I love to hear it cause it means the Habs scored and that's ok with me. But it would be better to find another one!

U2 recorded some of the greatest albums in music history (Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, War) as well as songs (One, Pride, Sunday Bloody Sunday). However I think they have been uninspired for a good decade now. Except a few sparks, they have become somewhat blank and more appealed by big crowds and flashiness than with musical innovation. There's tons of band out there that, as from 2008, are light years ahead of U2 in term of musical quality. Still a top-40 band ever in my book.

I understand the portion of the song they use can easily stir up emotion but there are thousands of other mainstream and lesser known tunes alike that can evoke the same feelings, produced by artists and groups that didn't mysteriously have their souls sucked out of them upon the last chord of the song "Amsterdam".

Ditto for U2 except they haven't been good for 20 years and Bono IS the record.

If I were head of marketing or whatever department takes care of this stuff, I wouldn't have any mainstream songs affiliated with the team. Keep the club bigger than life itself!

Not losing a single ounce of sleep over it mind you but music, serious business.
X&Y was an experimental album. It had a sort of spacey feel to it, but it was still a good record, nowhere near as good as A Rush of Blood though.

One, two, three, fourteen!
What the hell is that??? I can't stand Vertigo if I have to hear that part, so as long as the Habs don't play the intro I'm alright with it.

Haven't really noticed it. Seems like my ears are blocking the song every time the Habs score. The goal horn and the play-by-play also help. Can't say much about hearing it at the Bell Centre, as I haven't been there in a long time.

They should just play that, I'm sure the other team would be scared

Warning, you may want to have your volume on low.

There is this really neat song called Rock and Roll part 2 by Gary Glitter. It would be perfect for hockey

Since we are on the mettle theme here:

I think Sculptor of Flesh by 1349 would do the trick. Brutal black metal.

As a metal fan, I would be thrilled if the Habs were associated with that genre of music . It will indicate that the Habs are relentless. They are never going to quit and will come after you in droves.

BTW, that song by ATR is quite good.

Why did they get rid of the old goal song? That tune was awesome especially in the playoffs.
