I really like the Flames this period, they have speed, they are putting pucks towards the net, they are grinding and they have D. That first goal by the Caps was tough but Im glad that didnt take the wind out of the Calgary sails and they seemed to use that to motivate them.

Glad Iggy got that goal, its going to be a good 2nd and 3rd!!

... I hope Phaneuf gets Cooke in his radar and makes him pay, he will always be hated by the Flames.

Great summary of the first period. Just one thing, I'd like to add: Sarich and Regehr have done a very good job in shutting down Ovechkin so far, who has been limited to a single shot in the first.

God, watching this game the Caps have sooooo much talent. Such beauty passing plays. I'm just glad the Flames and Caps are still tied. (missed 1st period) Has it been a case of Miikka stealing the show again?

I'm so disappointed I'm missing this game 'cause I'm at work... I really need to get my PVR.

There has to be a lodestone in his glove tonight. Hope, he can save the lead, cause Flames' are taking way too many stupid penalties right now.

Edit: Ovechkin finally converts one of the numerous PP-chances.

Figures they'd tie it up, with the amount of penalties the Flames have been taking.

Well not a bad second, but not a good one either. Way too many stupid penalties.

Measured by the first period, the second one was a clear-cut setback.

Meh maybe just me and even though I agreed with some of the calls, I just had the feeling they were trying to even the calls up. Maybe we'll be able see more 5-5 play in the third.
