I'm not worried about Montreal because of this game against the Sens. Every team has a team they can't beat for some reason and ours seems to be the Sens this season for some reason.
Our players didn't get good shots on net tonight at all, 2nd goal I thought was very questionable for a high stick, and the 3rd goal even was something Gorges if he had positioned himself with the Sens player he could have cleared that rebound for Price who had no chnce in recovering because the shot was in the shoulder/mask area.
On a positive we out shot the other team for the first time in what 5 games? We just didn't bring that intensity of hitting and out skating the Sens like we did against the Devils.
Carbo just has to find a way to ignite the boys to play better the rest of the way out, I really want to get that top 1 or 2 spot so we have home ice and can potentially play the Bruins a team we have beaten all year and who is in a terrible funk right now.
Oh well, that sucked. Our record against the more elite teams (Ottawa, Jersey, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Detroit, Anaheim, San Jose) of the NHL is a woeful combined 5-13. I don't think we're quite "there" yet. Getting the 3-6 matchup ain't such a bad thing. I don't care if Carolina owns us on Bell Centre ice or Sammy's revenge comes or Carolina is playing well. We stack up much better (Plus their record is worse). I really don't want a 1st round series with the Sens, Devils or Penguins but it's looking entirely possible.
