Can we forget about the division?

Ten games left, eight points out. Doesn't look good.

I don't think it's going to happen. Am I being overly pess?

The team as a whole mailed in the weekend. Lundqvist was great, but the team focus and effort was weak.

They are either just bad w/o their two senior D men in the lineup. Malik and Mara

or they just want to play for the 6 seed?

.

with three games against both Pitt and NJ I think the Division is well within reach.

The team had been playing lights out for a long time, it was probably for the best that we get these 2 clunkers out of the way not.

Nothing BUT division games from here on out, the Division is very much still in play here.

The division is totally within reach. The rangers are in a wonderful spot right now, they control their own destiny.

As much as I complained about 8 division games earlier in the year...is there anyone not excited about the next ten?

I think we can still take the division and conference. But we have to play with desperation in our game because without it we might play like we did against tampa and florida

it's not about the weekend debacle, it's bigger. they played like crap against boston which even renney joked about daylight savings time as an excuse, they played like crap against buffalo, penalties or not gomez and shanny both admitted the team had nothing going. this leads into friday's game, florida simply out willed them and wanted it more. and yesterday, outside of maybe the phoenix game, this was probably their worst effort of the season, and you can't lay an egg like that now. i said a few weeks back i hoped they weren't peaking too soon, and i think that's the case, and with pitt/nj back to back we could be looking at a 4 game losing streak going into philly. the universe seems to even itself out, in other words, we have all 5 wins vs nj so far, devils are due to beat us, then you look at philly, we've won 7 in a row at philly, don't expect or better yet don't assume those streaks will continue. if they lose to pitt tuesday this team is in serious trouble

edit: one last point, this stretch proves the true team we are: INCONSISTENT, a nice stretch of getting points every game and now back to reality, i just don't see them making it far IF, yes IF they make the playoffs

There's a very good chance that winning the Patrick Division could mean winning the Wales Conference.

I think this weekend basically killed our chances of taking the division. It's obviously not impossible, but unlikely. Had we even gone 1 for 2 I would be a lot more positive. A loss on Tuesday will certainly end any hope.

Highly unlikely. Jersey is currently #1 at 90 points. They can max out at 110 currently. If we win our last 10, since we meet them 3 times, assuming we win in regulation, they could still max out at 104. We'd have 103. Jersey would have to lose at least one more game, drop all 3 against us in regulation and we'd have to win all 10 of our games. Possible? Not likely.

I think Rodent had some article warning about the Rangers falling off towards the end. Or maybe it was about how we wouldn't fall off like two years ago? I forget.

After this weekends flop, screw the division title. Sit back and root like hell for any team playing the Bruins, Sabres and Flyers.

Sabres will creep back into the playoffs. Now , it depends whether its the expensive of the Rangers, Bruins, or Flyers. I sure as hell hope it aint us.

As long as we are hot going into the playoffs and we actually make them I don't care who we play.

For ref, see NY Giants.

ye, Guys, I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but we are only FOUR points out of 9th, so we are not even guaranteed a playoff spot yet!

I would be very happy to just make it into the playoffs, it wont be as easy as you all think.

I hope these Rangers aren't the 2007 NY Mets...MAN, that would be bad!

Not complaining about the spree of division games coming up considering I think the rangers play much better when playing those teams.

I would say you could forget about it, but with 10 division games left anythings possible.

Dont forget what happened two seasons ago when the Devils won 10 in a row and beat out the Rangers and Flyers for the top spot on the last night.

Its funny hows theres no mention in that article about the Rangers.

If they win tonight theyll be 4 points back of Pittsburgh and 5 behind the Devils with 2 more tilts against the Pens (8 point swing) and 3 against the Devils (12 point swing).

Its easy to say they are done climbing, or not even in the top teams race. But look closer. They have the games in front of them win the division.

That's exactly why they're not mentioned. You can't blame them for not expecting us to win these last ten games and beat Pitt and the Devils all six times.
