If Perreault were to be sent down to Hamilton...

does his NTC, which according to RDS today he still has!!, exempt him from being picked up by another team...now I know this would most likely never happen but if BG were to work out a deal with the Flames GM to send Perreault to Hamilton and that would thus put him on waivers, and the Flames were to pick him up and turn around and trade us Gauthier and/or Conroy for Sundstrom (+ Perreault from waivers)...I`m just using the Flames for arguments sake due to all the rumors....

Could this potentially happen with any team...

Somehow I find it difficult to believe Perreault wouldnt waive his NTC if he was headed for Flames. He plays 4th line center for Habs with little extra PP and faceoff specialist duty? Right? With Flames he could easily be playing 2nd line center, adding points, with Reinprecht and Yelle being hurt regularly. Not to take this opportunity would be stupid move for his career, if he wants to keep playing NHL hockey.

I think he likes the idea of controlling where he is going to go. I'm sure if a good team were to make an offer Perreault would be all for it, but he probably doesn't want to go to another team in similar situation as the one the Habs are in now.
