depends on your company. I get center-ice on time warner and not once has a game on center ice been in hd. I know someone who has it with directtv and gets hd games all the time.

And they broadcast in DD 5.1. Wish MSG HD would upgrade its audio.

Man, the audio for most NHL games sucks. I do remember hearing an interview with the NHL's director of broadcasting (or something like that), saying how they produced a DVD for all teams on how to broadcast a game in HD and HD standards. He also said that this year they hope to create one for audio standards, too. NHL Network is supposed to go all HD, including On the Fly, next season.

I agree about the audio. I just happened to be watching the first MSG+ broadcast of an Islanders game and actually turned my head around to look behind me, but didn't think anything of it at the time. The next day I read how + is using upgraded audio. The game definitely sounded a lot better.

Just remember, DD is only available on MSG+ HD (formerly FSNY HD), not MSG-HD. So for now you have to settle for Islanders games in better audio.

that's weird. You'd think the mothership would get the upgraded audio first.

What good is micing the crowd in 5.1 if there's no crowd to mic?

You can get slingbox, hook it up to a cable box with MSG HD and then watch it from anywhere in the world, HD on your computer
