Can anyone tell me whats up with Nathan Moon...

He lead his Kingston team in scoring this year. Do you think he will be drafted?

most of the goalies for the next couple of years will probably be taken in later rounds because there's less of a need for goalies in the NHL right now. Seems like every team has their own top goalie prospects with teams like St. Louis with multiple goalies.

Boychuk will be a solid third line shutdown player in the NHL, hopefully Chicago takes him

He was ranked around the midpoint at the mid-season rankings for CBS (for North American skaters).

I'd guess he would be drafted mid round.

He's 2008 eligible.

He was supposed to be a big thing, like 2 years ago, but since then his rankings only decreased.

Teams don't know what they're gonna need in 3 years or so... if a goalie is in their opinion the BPA, he's taken as early as they thing he should. All of their goalie prospects could prove to be nothing more than back-up potential, when it comes time to needing them, so they take one now if they feel he's the BPA.

How many goalies do you think will be retiring in the next 3 years? Osgood, Hasek, Brodeur, Roloson and Kolzig. That's five spots that will be open and two of them are on Detroit which can easily replace them with a free-agent. There's also quality goalies in Europe that havn't played in the NHL yet, that's why teams won't be picking goalies until later. Chet Pickard is projected to be a late first-rounder but I think it would be foolish for a Detroit or Dallas to select him when they could get a really good 3rd liner.

The point is, if you don't have great DEPTH at that position (you need depth too, not just a starter), then you're going to be in the market for a goalie. You definitely don't waste a high round pick if you have what you think is a young, starting tender, but if you're iffy, you take who you think is the best available... if it happens to be a goalie, unless you have Carey Price, you take him.

After doing some research on Anton Gustafsson, I think I would probably have him ranked higher than you have him (you have him 58th), I would probably move him up to the 27-40 range.. but thats just my opinion.

Doughty hasn't been the guy he's expected to. But I doubt Pietrangelo gets selected over Doughty.

Del Zotto and Toews too high. Phil McRae, Shawn Lalonde, James Livingstone and Adam Henrique too low.
