I was 16 just before the 2003 draft and I was extatic with all the talent in that draft, that's when I became alot like you and started looking far ahead. I remember I was obsessed with Phil Kessel in 2004 thinking he'd be God's gift to America. Generally I hated Crosby, I knew of him in 2003 but I really disliked the fact we shared birthdays because I always took pride in the 8.7.87 phenominom that my birthday was, and I wore 87 as long as I can remember, even playing Goalie in Finland/Quebec I did that.

I was just wondering because you seem like that wunderkind 16 year old that can't wait for tomorrow to happen. Be happy with today because I wish I did. I really took Lemieux, Bure, Roy, Bourque, etc, for granted, I even feel like I'm taking Sakic for granted. It's exciting but I'm gonna guarentee that 1/3 of the players we hype 2010- are gonna be non-first round picks. I remember Devon MacAusland and Sam Calabrese getting tonnnnnnnnnnnnnnns of hype, now they're out of my first 2 rounds!

Its fine, I was just like you 4 years ago, it's good to wish and hope, but you're setting yourself up for disapointment when 12 year old Timmy McHockey doesn't dominate the OHL. Set limits, 2010 is my cutoff right now, anything after that really isn't too good. I doubt many people have seen both Euro and North American players 1994-.

If it's your passion, good luck, but I'm giving you a forewarning...
Here we go again with the "you remind me of me when I was young, but now Iam not biased and treat every other Prospect as equal crap" give it a rest already.

Ok. What's your problem? Finnerican haven't done anything wrong. If he's a little biased, so what? (like he's the only biased fan on these boards...) And if you don't like his posts you can also ignore them. If thats the case.

-----------------------------
As for the 2012. There are only 3 finnish players that i know of: Henri Allen (late -93) defenseman, Oskari Lehtinen (-94) forward & Henrik Haapala (-94) forward. Haven't seen them yet thought.

In Finland the most talent are FIRST gathered together when they turn 15 (this year 1993 born) in Pohjola-leiri. Not all players might even play against each other earlier that, the worldwide series start on C-juniors (this year 1992 born). Of course there are tournaments and over-regional series, but it might be a chance that Kärpät junior team and Blues junior team (for example) play first time against each other in C-junior level. So the comparison is really hard.

Of course I could add you some names who have been good in the games I have seen but I won't because the younger they are the more different they develop. The 2000 born boy who has dominated the games he had played might loss his interest and others might go past him in the next season etc.... The possibilities are so many when you are talking about teenagers.

I would say the 16 years is very important age. It shows how the interests and the physical development goes.

Pohjola camp is phenominal. That's when Finland seperates boys from men.

What is this hockey pedophilia? Man let these kids reach juniors or at least junior b before thinking about them as players. Let these kids grow up. Nothing like ranking the Peewee's and bantams.

Big difference between a draft for juniors and looking at a 12 year olds future in the NHL....It's disturbing.

I'd say 13 is the cutoff... Teen is where I think we separate men from boys... 1991-1994 is where we should look.

I don't know how you compiled your list but it does it really means nothing. I have seen at least one of these players compete over the years, and although a good player, a prospect he isn't yet.

Here we go again. Don't even bother coming in this thread then. Don't waste anymore time because nobody cares what you have to say. Let's remember that Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky were teenagers at one time in there life. I wonder if they were noticed as exceptionally good players when they were 12 or 13 years old. I think they turned out alright.

I take it he will be 22 whens he drafted. yeah he's a real phenom. Sounds like he could be the next fabian Brunnstrom
You do realize how ridiculous this thread is? No one can project 12-13 year olds. No one. We have a hard enough time projecting 18 year olds.

First off dont waste your time posting in this thread since you feel this way. And second I never asked anyone to project these kids in 5-10 years. I simply asked about teenage phenoms. I didn't say predict who would be a superstar in the NHL. I asked if there where any 12,13,14 year old phenoms out there. I didn't say to predict if these kids will make it to the NHL or not. And its a ridiculous thread for you because you probably have zero input to give on this thread. That okay though but there are some scouts out there who already know a lot about these young kids. Thats all I'm askin

most 12-year olds aren't big enough to be competitive against 18-19 year olds.

It's very possible. Several of my friends were already over 6'0" when they were in Grade 7, so if you have the talent you could survive for sure.

How about Henrik Samuelsson,Seth Jones, & Taylor Balog. I think these players are top 5 or 10 prospects for the 2009 WHL Bantam draft. Does anyone know anything about them?

Ocean Wiebslatt...1999 born
Orca Wiebslatt...2000 born
Nikolaj Krag-Kristensen...1998 born
Jayce Hawryluk...1996 born
