I don't think this should be merged. If you do merge it, at least change the date of the other thread.

I agree that a whole season will be expensive, but if you're ever out of town, you can watch the game for $2.99! You can't put a price on that.

Of course, if you're in the US, you'll have to be behind a proxy...

3$/game is an hefty price, but it is worth it for Habs fans across the world. For people in North America, I think it all depends on the quality of the feed. If the connection is choppy and the image so-so, it's definitely a ripoff.

Which is lame when you think about it. The whole point of streaming games online is for those who are Habs fans and can't get RDS and most of those people are in the U.S or other countries.

It's pretty high but for the fans around the world, it's nice! For us in MTL, it's not a big deal because everyone here can watch the Habs except if there don't have RDS. But they have the radio...

And, when you cannot watch a game, it's because you are working, visiting some friends etc...so you won't have the time to watch all the game! Bad thing for Montrealers IMO!

Lame, if I wanted to spend money I'd have ordered RDS.

RDS is like 4.99 a month for me.. with NHL network, raptors tv and some fox sports thing included..

so 2.99 is ridiculous for a game.

For people who can't catch the game otherwise, $2.99 is nothing, and $27.99 to watch the rest of the season PLUS the playoff drive is nothing for any hab fan. If i was out of town I'd buy that in a second.

Where I am, 8 bucks a month...and they always throw in the first 4 months free (basically the majority of the season, since I cancel when the playoffs start).

For me to get RDS (I don't have cable TV or anything), the package that includes it is like $40/month. So, needless to say, I don't order it! So this online deal could be very good for people like me, if the quality is any good of course.

The Hamilton Bulldogs games are $6 a crack.. or at least were so last year.

$2.99 isn't cheap.. but if you can't get RDS.. its an option that RDS is giving you. They didn't have to do it.

I'm assuming for the entire season it'll be like $99.99 or something.. which isn't bad.

RDS is free for me at home.. but we didn't have it at school until recently.. if this had of been available last year, I would of bought it in a heartbeat.

3$ x 82 = 246$ (without taxes) if someone want to watch the whole season the RDS stream. The NHL Center Ice package is 219$ + taxes for the whole season and you get much more than just the Habs. Not to mention that you get much better quality.

So yeah it's a hell of a ripoff. 0.99$ per game would be more of an appropriate price.

They aren't going to charge $246 for the entire season. Maybe $100 or $150 at the most.

As for NHL Centre Ice.. I'm assuming you don't have it? Because they don't show a heck of a lot of Habs games on it, regardless of where you live.

RDS is trying to pwn the good people of Quebec.

You can get CBC games in the playoffs off their website streaming if I recall last spring for free!!!!

This is an outrage.

100 $ for the whole season would be a decent price. It would be insanity to not offer some sort of package for the whole season.

And you are correct about Center Ice not having not many Habs games but i was just making a comparaison to show that it would be a ripoff to charge 2.99$ x 82 for a season since you get much more for your money with Center Ice for less (despite thet lack of Habs games)

Make it free....triple your traffic on people connecting to watch online games and let the sponsors (who will jump like flies on ****) pay the bill and make a profit out of it....

They probably ran a decision model to look at the more profitable option but you can combine :molson, ford, and whoever and sponsors will come like crazy

thats my 2 cents

CBC is public so they depend on advertising to make money but you make a good point....make it in between and like my suggestion go for sponsored free web streaming....
