Do you Regret the trade that sent Kovalev to CH ??

personally, i think that this move was one of the worst move of the Rangers!

I saw him play yersterday and I realized that we let one of the most skilled player of the NHL. He has 77 points/ 75 games

7 more points than Gomez!.....

That's ridiculous, Joseph Baleij is not even on the Rangers organization anymore!!!

Look a that:

No, I don't regret it.

We were rebuilding and ridding ourselves of him was part of the plan. So we didn't get as much out of the trade as we could have (maybe, who knows). I'm happy with what we have and where we're at now.

BTW, this has been discussed no less that 6 trillion times in the past 3 years.

Oh, and we traded him to MTL.

the rangers had a choice between plekanec and balej....and they chose balej......if they had gone the other way the rangers would be that much better

No. Kovalev was one of my favorite players on the Rangers and he always had ridiculous skill, this is nothing new. We have had him twice in New York and twice he has played far below his abilities. Frankly I wish him the best but I am glad we don't pay him to disappoint us.

Kovalev was destined to fail as a Ranger.

We traded him away, he tore it up.
We got him back, he stunk.
We traded him away, he tore it up again.

Its no ones fault but sometimes it just doesnt work out. he then began to rip the Rangers in the press as "the worst years of his career" so F 'im.

Maybe Plekanec doesn't develop with us as he did with Montreal. Who knows? The point is, I don't regret the trade, and discussing it for the gazillionth time is really beating the proverbial dead horse... I think at this point that poor horse may be reduced to just some hooves and possibly a few vertebrae.

You see it in all the sports for New York. Surprised, though. Its not like Montreal is a bunch of media-less fans. I would think they might even be worse with their hockey coverage, compared to NY

Well he's doing pretty well in Montreal right now, and as I understand there are a few hockey fans in that town.

The Zubov trade was one of the most painful in the last 20 years.

He's doing OK this year... he has been bad the past two years.

The fans are not as hostile as they are here

That's the trade that I regret the most. I don't regret the Kovalev trade at all, because he never would've been the player in NY that he's become MON. In fact, he didn't become that player until this year, and it's highly unlikey he will stay that player.

That's basically all you need to know in a nutshell.

I used to love Kovalev, but when he came to the rangers that second time he was invisible. I was happy to get that 2nd rounder and balej, Kovalev wasn't doing much until this season.

The Savard trade was a killer. I remember moving up to get lundmark and hlavac and that was awesome. But after that one solid season savard had, I thought we should of hung onto him a little longer. Heard he was a pain with the coaches though

That one was pretty bad, but the Zubov one still bugs me more. The guy's still a PP QB to this day and a good one at that.

Nope, hated his heartless effort on most nights. Was great with the Pens, playing like a superstar then he comes to NY and gives it 50%. Never liked him much.

I remember him in his tour with the rangers. I loved the guy, every single time he scored, he went nuts. I love hockey celebrations. Honestly, is there anything better than watching a college hockey celebration?
