Seen a game in Canada?

Hey, I'm going to be in Montreal early next week and have tickets for the Habs-Sens game on Monday night. I am ecstatic to be in one of the true meccas of Hockey in addition to witnessing a game in Canada.

Any CBJ fans been to a game in Canada?

What's it like?

I saw the Jackets play the Canucks in Vancouver in March 2004. They came back from being down in the third period 4-2 to win 5-4 in regulation. Tyler Wright handed his stick to me after the game, and I still have it to this day

Other than the awesome win, it was pretty sweet I guess. I didn't notice the fans getting a whole lot louder than in most places (I've been to games in about 10 different cities), but what did show was the public enthusiasm for the game. Talk radio, let alone sports radio, was 24/7 about the Canucks. Hockey all the time. It was pretty intense.

The only thing I can assure you is that if the Habs beats the Sens, you will witness something very loud at the end of the game. I don't know how the crowd is for a CBJ game but I can only assume that I will be different in Montreal. Hope to hear from you in the Montreal HFBoards telling us your experience.

Been to games in a bunch of places in Ontario and Quebec. Great cities - and towns, in some cases. Nothing compares to the Leafs at old MLG. Even Montreal (sorry kachino).

Have fun!

I was at the Jackets/Habs game last month at the Bell Centre, the atmosphere was great leading up to the game but due to the fact we smoked the Habs 3-0 I'm not sure I got the full in-arena atmosphere.

I was at that game too as well as the other two games on the eastern Canada road trip. The atmosphere was great in every arena. Canadiens fans get really loud and as long as you don't wear a Sens jersey, you should be ok.

You guys will get something like that when the CBJ make and win games in the playoffs... because that particular game vs the Devils was like a playoff game for us..

How the hell did you get tickets for a game in MTL?? I heard you have to get on a waitinglist the day you're born to get tickets when you're 50.

I saw Montreal defeat New Jersey 3-2 in overtime, in 1993 I believe, when I was 11, in the old Forum. Mike Keane had the winning goal.

If I'm remembering right, the Devils had Stevens, Niedermayer, and Daneyko on D, and Montreal had Dejardains and Schneider. Damphousse and Muller were playing for Montreal too. Roy was in goal for Montreal, and possibly Chris Terreri for NJ.

What's it like? It was awesome!

Saw the Jackets/Sens game in Ottawa back in 03 or 04, can't remember which. The atmosphere was pretty much like here when the Wings play us. I can't say it was any louder though. Jackets lost so the fans went home happy.

The Bell Centre is not the same as the old Forum, but it's still pretty cool. You're going to have a great time. You'll find the crowd knows more about what they're watching than most other places you've been to in the US by virtue of what they choose to complain about. I found this to be true after seeing games in the old Forum, the Bell Centre, and in Ottawa, plus a couple of OHL places (Brampton, Barrie).

If you can, get some pre- or post-game grub and beer at the Peel Pub on St. Catherine Street. Great place.

I saw a game at the old Maple Leaf Gardens when I was younger. It was incredible.

I want to see a game in the ACC, next time I get a chance to go up to Toronto.

I was surprised myself, especially since they're playing the Sens, but I purchased 2 tickets just the other day from RazorGator. They're expensive and in the nose-bleeds but hey, how many times am I going to be in Montreal when the Habs are playing??? It was a no brainer.

Yep, been to all major arenas in Canada...

Though, if you ever get a chance to come to Western Canada and watch some WHL games...do it.

Seriously, the Arena in the Hat is NUTS.

I started looking at the Scores & Schedules page on Yahoo and found the Sens-Habs game and there was a Buy Tickets link to RazorGator. I think it's similar to TicketExchange (through Ticketmaster) or StubHub.

The thing I didn't like about RazorGator was that it actually mailed the tickets through FedEx rather than just emailing them to me so that I could print them out.

On the plus side, though, I've got a set of ticket stubs that I'm going to keep...

Wow, that's pretty cool, I was under the impression I could never see a game in Montreal. Now I know

How much did it end up costing? (If you don't mind my asking...)

2 tickets - after the markup, taxes and FedEx delivery cost $390. Section 316. Nose-bleeds.

It'll be worth it, though.

Yeah that's about what I was thinking, actually. I'm sure it was quite an experience

I was going to say you got hosed but I checked the website that I bought tickets for the eastern Canada trip from (http://www.acheapseat.com) and they were actually more expensive ($200 a piece for section 315, not including shipping). Your seats are better than the ones I got though. I was up in the 400's, last row. I couldn't even see the scoreboard.
