Prucha value gauge

Prucha for Ortmeyer.
Prucha for AHLer
Prucha for 7th

What would you consider acceptable return for Prucha considering value, not need?

Prucha could catch you a mid-range pick/prospect, which is why I wouldn't want to trade him without giving him another shot.

And then gets bumped, and falls down.

And steps up again. And gets knocked off the puck...

Sigh.

Probably the only way he can get us something valuable in a trade at this point is if he's part of a package. Alone I'm not sure why any team would trade more than a average prospect for him.

I think prucha will come out and shine within the next 2 seasons as some of our vets leave...

as much as i loved Jedi that wouldn't be a wise trade, more so a lateral move if not a trade down. although, i have not been keeping track of him this season, but if hes playing anything like he did last year...

'08-09 on left wing:

Avery, 5'7"-9" (they say 5'10", but you know he's smaller, and even if he plays big, he's well under 6')
Dawes, 5'8"
Prucha, 5'9"
Hollweg, 5'10"

Furthermore:

Dubinsky, 6'1" - Jagr, 6'2"
Gomez, 5'11" - Shanahan, 6'3"
Straka 5'9" - Drury, 5'10" - Callahan, 5'11"
Betts, 6'2" - Orr - 6'2"

Malik, 2'5" - Rozsival, 6'2"
Tyutin, 6'1" - Girardi, 6'2"
Staal, 6'3" - Backman, 6'1"
Strudwick, 6'2" - Mara, 6'4" (plays like 5'11')

I don't like it, one of Dawes or Prucha have got to go. We need to get bigger... i know we're not that bad and the new NHL is conducive to small guys' games, but we're just gonna need bigger, more durable bodies, especially on LW.

I would rather hold on to him for a while and see how he does then just trade him for garbage.

I've finally accepted he's not going to be a Ranger anymore. Sorry to say, because I believe he will score 20+ goals for another team again.

Rangers IMO did a bad job of asset management here. He never really got much of a chance and I have to believe they favored other players over him during this time (and with good reason - referring to Dawes/Cally). They should have traded him earlier rather than wait for these guys to step up and him to be left in the dust.

We'll be lucky if we get a 4th for him.

At some point

you need to ask yourself whether we have a "Straka" or an "Hlavac" on our hands.

I know that lots of folks around here think Prucha is the second coming of Jan "Moosh" Hlavac, but I give Petr a little more credit than that.

Prucha's value should be questioned during or at the end of next season, not now.

if prucha learns to be better defensively i could see him taking over a straka like role for the team.

Doesn't work unfortunately - you've got to question his value now so that you can determine whether he's the answer for one of the wing spots that will be opening up next year. Also, we have him under contract for next year - if he's not going to play, we need to trade him. We don't need $1.5MM of cap hit riding the bench.

52 goals his first two years at the NHL level, lets just give him away for an AHL'er because he is struggling this year. That would be terrific asset management.

He scored 30 goals as a rookie and 22 the year after.

He can put the puck in the net.

The REAL issue here is that Shanahan —who, although can shoot, can't skate for his life— took Prucha's place.

Shanahan should be the one out the door after this season. He can't keep up with his linemates and he can't keep up with the opposition. Plain and simple, the guy can not skate anymore. And Cherepanov should take his place on the right side of Gomez, with Dawes' playmaking ability on the left.

Prucha still has a shot with this organization though, but he needs to put on at least 10 more pounds and get decent time on the PP again. He has great hands, but he needs to get stronger on his feet.

You can attribute this to the Rangers not taking advantage of a talent that they have here. He has the ability to be a 20-30 goal scorer. They need to get him on a strict work out plan and nutrition plan to get his mass up a LITTLE. If he can weigh in at 190... even 185 he would be able to use his talent more and get into traffic.
