GDT: Wild @ Flames, 8:00pm MDT (CBC/Fan 960)

Minnesota Wild: 40-26-9, 1st in Northwest, 3rd in Western Conference

@

Calgary Flames: 38-26-10, 2nd in Northwest , 6th in Western Conference

The Flames look to move closer to the NW division lead as they face the Wild tonight in Calgary.

This game will be the 7th time these clubs meet this regular season, and the Flames have had the Wild's number, winning 5 of the 6 games so far. The last game between these clubs ended in a 2-1 win for Calgary back on February 24.

The Flames are on a 1 game winning streak after beating Colorado on Thursday, while the Wild are also on a 1 game winning streak, having beaten Vancouver last night.

Pre-Game report:
http://flames.nhl.com/team/app?gameN...8&service=page

According to Rob Kerr's blog (http://blog.rogersradiointernet.com/robkerr) the line-up for the Flames will be something like this:

Nilson Langkow Iginla
Huselius Conroy Nolan
Yelle Lombardi Primeau
Smith Boyd Goddard
Nystrom Moss

Eriksson Phaneuf
Regeher Sarich
Vandermeer Aucoin
Hale

Kiprusoff
Joseph

Tanguay did not practice.

Injuries: Rhett Warrener is out for sure for the Flames, and Tanguay is questionable. For the Wild, Kurtis Foster is out with a broken leg.

Keys to tonights game:
  • Iggy gone Wild: The Captain has owned the Wild this season, getting 7 points in 6 games so far.
  • Don't get cocky: Just because we've only lost one game to the Wild so far doesn't mean we can't lose this one
  • Huselius? After only playing 6 minutes last game, how will he respond?

Great chance to pick up some points on the way to the top of the division. Lots of other games of interest as well. Should make for an entertaining evening.

GO FLAMES GO!!!

I hate playing the Flames especially in Calgary. I think the Wild have only won in the Saddle Dome like three times. So if I were you guys I would feel pretty good about tonight.

Big game tonight. Can't wait for it to start. Hope we see the same effort that they showed against the Avs on Thursday. We've had the Wild's number this year and hopefully that continues tonight.

GO FLAMES GO!!

Let's see the Wild who we traditionally dominate are playing the 2nd game of a back to back against us in the Saddledome. If we lose this game, expect a bag skate from Iron Mike.

I haven't seen Minnesota play on HNIC for a really long time. HNIC definitely prefers showing the Avs.

I'm not really sure how to explain it. Especially since I watch you guys dominate the Oilers quite ruthlessly.

HNIC just showed Phaneuf talking to our goaltending coach Marcoux. Phaneuf must want to complete some goaltending training and double as our backup goaltender next year.

We must win this game and stay in contention. I think a loss really hurts our chances at the division.

Huselius is on the first line. Keenan looks like he's giving him a chance to redeem.

Edit: Come to think of it. This is Chris Simon's first game back in the Saddledome since being a Flame.

Edit 2: Rock em, sock em at it's best. I was hoping we'd see Simon fight today.

Boogard, I like you much better when you're trying your tricks on the Oilers.

That's one heck of a goal. Too bad I was in the washroom at the time.

How has Huseluis' stock fallen so far from earlier in the season? Didn't he have like 25 points in 12 games at one point?

Is Iron Mike just being too hard on him?

When it comes to on the ice play, I HATE Iggy.

Trade him to the Eastern Conference, please!

Huselius has 2:21 of even strength time and he's -1. I don't like it but I think Huselius is done for the season. His confidence is shot and doesn't have anywhere near enough time to crawl out of Keenan's doghouse.

I missed the game versus Columbus but I assume Huselius was absolutely terrible in that game.

I got Flames killer Vokoun traded to the Eastern conference but I'm not telling you how I did it.
