You'll get alot more puck movement from Wilson. Better passer than OKT. But not anywhere near the physicality.

Think Walser, but he can actually play some defense, and without the bonehead plays. (I feel bad comparing him to Wally, but trying to find a comparible you all would know.)

Thanks for the intel SCF, sounds like he'll be reliable if unspectactular.

re-reading your post, I was thinking Radoslav Suchy, who was spectacularly unspectacular for the season he was here, but was extremely Reliable, a poor Man's Hejda.... Not that Physical, but plays good positionally defense....someone who goes unnoticed for games on end, and is only noticed the rare mistake he made defensively.

fourth in league scoring for d-men though? Hmmmm.....

Except, the few times I've seen him, Clay appears to be more offensively-minded. Willing to pinch in at the right times and shoot on net. "Walser with a brain" is probably a good comparison.

One possibility is that Methot isn't going to get a look right now because they are trying to improve transition. That's not really his forte.

Quite possibly true. If they are trying to decide on Hainsey and/or Tarnstrom, have them see if they have someone in the wings that could do that job, or at least compete for it next year already in house. They know what they have in Methot.

Methot is not from the Oiler organization. (See previous administration "PEI")

Anyone else think Wilson looks like a woman and/or Peter Pan?

I bet he's a lesbian.

so are we seeing a line of MacKenzie centering Brule and Lindstrom with Rome and Wilson on the points? A Crunch Line?

Ok, after two games is Clay Wilson the best Syracuse call-up of the season or what?

I've been very impressed with this guy. He's very good at finding open ice (in the slot and around the net) and has a quick shot. In a few years I have a feeling Wilson is going to be a cornerstone of our defense core. I'm trying not to get too high on him but right now he's looking better than advertised.

Plus he wears the #4. So awesome.

It's an unfortunate picture.

Fortunately in person he doesn't look like Clay Aiken.

Being a defender, he would tend to be 'open' in the offensive end.
But nice to see he has a shot!

If the kid can keep this type of pace, then I wave bye bye to Hainsey

Isn't that a nice change of paced based on all the trades XGMDM made with them.

Premature to say the least. Counting on someone to maintain a pace from a few NHL games at the end of the season is something Doug would have done. Slot him as a 5th to 7th defenseman if he does well, but don't expect him to be in our top 4 based on just a few games.

I'm not basing my opinion on that, more on the fact that Hitch said that he was smart with the puck. Hainsey is not. If they have the same basic skill set, I'd rather have the "smart" guy.

You know who else looked really good in his Jackets debut?

Kris Beech.

Hitch has also said he trusts Hainsey in the defensive zone.

Ken Hitchcock says a lot of things over the course of a year. Don't read too much into them.

Getting points does not equal "looking good".
