Hicks will not let the Saudis take over the FC either.
I know that Liverpool Fans organized themselves and will surely make an offer... lol.

I really like the idea of MLS soccer in montreal...

but WHY oh WHY are they going to use a stadium out in the east end near the big O???

did they not see how much that hurt the expos?

Montreal is a fantastic summer city, and it needs/deserves to have an attractive downtown stadium with some sort of pro sports team... it would really make the city complete!

I had the chance to visit the inside of the stadium and do an interview with Richard Legendre, who is VP of the stadium and the Impact for my radio show on CISM 89,3 FM and CHOQ.FM : La Taverne Saku.

It was two weeks ago and I asked Richard if they would join the MLS soon. He first responded MLS was a bigger football (soccer...) league in terms of perception. And he got a point, the Impact team right now would be good enough to beat any MLS team every game. Not saying there are the best, but it's not a bigger league in terms on talent. Money yes.

Why they didn't do a bigger stadium? I think it's because they wanted the best value/price. Let's not forget that the Impact et the Stadium are two non-profit organizations. Saputo, Quebec gouv. and Hydro-Quebec are the three main partners in those org.

Is you want to hear some of his answer :

It's on the 23rd of march show.

Like someone said, the stadium can be expend at about 17,000. With more money, you can do anything!

And people *****ing about the location...It's the Parc Olympique and it has to stay a sports site and the football stadium, where it is, it's perfect!

They have access to a parking under the Parc Olympique and you Metro Pie-IX and Viau right next to it.

I think the problem was more the facility than the location itself.

Most mls stadiums are not your 50,0000 plus stadiums for the most part.

I'd love to have a NFL team in Montreal.

No, the location was a major problem for many people.

The Bell Centre is in the perfect area. The Big O, not so much.

Speaking of expos, I stumbled upon this expos video...

Can't believe how cool Jarry Park looked like.
