I like the Modano comparison..

If tampa gets the 2nd overall pick and Stamkos is still there.. I think they will pick him..

Its not exactly written in stone that they will pick at #2... the lottery can put them at #1, #2 or #3... (considering they stay where they are in the standings).

I seem to remember the Hawks ending at #2, and winding up with Barker instead of Malkin..

Lucky for the hawks they didnt pass up on Malkin. I still think that Barker will be a solid NHL player, its always harder for Defencemen to develop.

I'm not complaining (a lot) about Barker. He's coming around...But let's face it...Malkin? Barker? Not much of a question.

This stung a lot more a few months ago when Barker was looking more and more like a straight bust.

Pff... he better NOT paint them black, if he ever wishes to get home.

It's been said that he has the potential to be the point leading defenceman in the NHL someday...and decent in his own end.

Doughty is good. High risk high reward kinda guy. He could turn out to be hell in his own zone I think.

I'm really high on Ryan Ellis for 2009. Put up more points than Doughty as a defender AND he's 2009 eligable.
