Good trade for the Ducks,Simpson will help Ottawa I don't except Schastlivy here long because Leclerc and Holmqvist are due back next Wednesday...this should lead to another trade.

Have you seen Leschychyn this year? He is two steps slower, and just as bad as Hnidy.

I'm just relieved he can't be part of a possible Bondra trade! He was not a guy I wanted the Caps to be stuck with, in the end. And the trade for a defenseman still leaves open the possibility of the Sens needing to add a top-six LW by the deadline.

At the very least this trade opens a roster spot for Langfeld who is both tougher and producing more.

On the Sens board we've been calling for the Sens to acquire a stay at home d-man since well before Christmas. Most expected it to be somebody like Boughner, but this is about the same. Hnidy and Pothier cannot be on the teams starting lineup come playoff time.

Frugal deal by Muckler. Gets his team tougher without really decreasing overall talent. If Ray comes back, Ottawa should be more settled next time they face the Leafs.

Exactly, Josh gets the spot he deserves and we gain a good tough depth d'man we wanted. Anyone who says the ducks walk away with a steal shoud pay a little more attention to Shastivy. The guy has been awful this year and has shown nothing, so in no way is it a steal. Even trade, IMO. Even if Shasta hits his potential and breaks out it is no skin off Muck's back, he had every chance to do it and just could not put it together. I hope for his sake the more open west is what he needs and he finally breaks out.

Agreed..

I wonder if Simpson will dress for tommorow's game.. Isn't he the guy who jumped Yashin a few year's ago?

By the way, We still have 1 roster spot free with the Laich demotion.. Anything else going to happen?

Considering we picked up Simpson off of the Waiver draft, anything we got would be considered a good deal IMO.

are you Sens fans seriously disappointed with this deal? Schastlivy was a press box regular, wasn't he? if so, you guys got a pretty good #5 d-man for someone who wasn't going to help out this year at all. better move for Ottawa than the Ducks, i say...
