Bye Bye Francis

Enough is enough. When your team starts blowing leads in the last two minutes and you start off poorly consistently it is becoming obvious that this team is not buying into the system. We need new blood. Francis just isn't cutting it anymore. I don't expect anything to happen because we're still running things on the cheap but something needs to be done.

2 goals lead given away in 29 seconds within the last two minutes. Shocking.
We badly need those points.
I don't know about Francis but he isn't part of the long term picture that is for sure.
He was already on a very hot seat at the end of last year and after a long meeting, they decided to keep him on board. But you feel that Barnett and Gretzky aren't huge fans. If he was continuity for this year, he was the best solution for a pre-CBA year.
But he is a defensive coach and that will never bring excitement to Phoenix. This year was a trap for him. Being a defensive minded coach with the crop of D that are on the rosters (Young, unexperienced prone to mistakes), He had not much chances. I believe he has been set up.
Now we have lost that game against Florida after a draw against the Blue Jackets.
We are shortly out of the race.
Francis will probably be as well.

To add insult to injury, they lose in OT on a panthers POWERPLAY goal.

But there isnt an abundance of good coaches out there, is there?

There isn't any urgency right now. Coyotes management mind is away from this season but working on post CBA season.

Looking at the box score - Sjostrom and Taffe combined didn't play 10 minutes!

WTF?

This is NOT developing our youth. If they make a mistake they don't play the rest of the game? I do not like this approach at all.

I agree Ducky.
Maybe we should fire Francis and get Marty from the Falcons

This is exactly why I'm not a BF fan. The youth development issue aside, there are guys on this team (and previous teams) that have little to no rope. And the young guys fall into this category just because of their age. A mistake or two -> drop down -> sit out. Other guys play tons of minutes night after night regardless of peaks and valleys in their play. I've hated this since the Kaching/Germy Bowneck days and it has never changed. Yer either a guy that he finds easy to bench/punish or your not. His replacement may be no better, but I can't wait till he's gone. I'm getting tired of being tired of him...

The Coyotes need a Sutter for a coach, are there any of them left in the coaching field? If not, theres the old fall back, Ted Nolan.

Do you think that if Francis go, the next coach will be a friend or someone who already worked with Wayne Gretzky?

Oh god no. The Mullet is gonna be our next coach. Will Ray and Douger be the Asst. Coaches?

Don't shoot the coach. Francis didn't trade away Numminen, who is the exact type of guy the Coyotes would have had out there at crucial times in the game. Perhaps your expectations for this young defence corps are a little optimistic.

If it is, bring in Barry Melrose. No complaints from me there...

I agree Bobby has lost this team and its time for him to go. I love how he spent the poast game talking about the no goal instead of addressing his team's meltdown in the last 2 minutes...or the disaster what was this homestand.

We need Keenan. There is no way he would let this team come out and play the way they have this homestand with the playoffs on the line.

Taffe and Sjostrom both healthy scratches.

What is Bobby Francis trying to prove? They didn't play enough minutes last game to get benched.

If we are going with a young, developing team shouldn't we be trying to develop our forwards as well as the defense?

Confused and a little dejected over the way this season is turning.

He has lost the team. He will be part of the cleaning that will occur shortly. (I feel Marty will go too). I am quite bitter to see the ship sinking in just a matter of three weeks... Yep, three weeks ago, the Coyotes were a threat. Now they stink.
Ferocious management ahead?

4-0 after 2 periods. Abysmal performance by the team. Wayne, are you watching?

this has been said before but if we don't make the playoffs I'd rather have a really good lottery pick. the worst thing that can happen for us is to finish just out of the playoffs and drafting in that 11-15 range.

Looking back at the phenomenal shut out streak a couple things come to mind...

We allowed our selves to get our hopes up ( I know I did - visions of a turnaround second half, playoff success...)

and

The decision to play Burke rather than Boucher at the game recognizing Boucher seems to have squashed this team. They have been poor ever since. A fragile, youthful team is left shking its head wondering what is good enough. Scared to make a mistake. The coach has lost the team.

And the assistants need to go too.

No offense to Bowness but what the heck is he teaching our defense for? I figured that position might best be left to a guy who actually played defense?!

Our special teams suck. That is coaching.

Our preparation/readiness sucks. That is coaching.

Our confidence sucks. That is coaching.

What a poor idea that was. I mean, for celebrating a great performance, How can you pick a mid week game against the Flames (Glendale Arena very far from full)?
On top of that the guy doesn't even play after the celebration!
