And it was necessary to torture us all afternoon because...?

Did he have hip surgery a few years ago, or am I thinking of someone else?

I get the feeling he can probably play now, but there is no need for it.

In the rds video report they said that the nhl contacted all teams and are making them give more information about injuries this year (no more ''lower/upper body injury''). So this is why we know Komi has a hip injury. Pretty stupid if you ask me...

That's what I'm hoping. No need to play him at all the rest of the regular season because the division is pretty much wrapped up. Let him get as much rest as he can and he'll be ready for Game 1 hopefully.

i dont know what to think of this new rule...sure its "good" to know but what about when the playoffs come and other players start aiming for his Hip on purpose and can potentially really agravate the injury? Its going to happen.

I realise it had gone too far (what was it we saw last year...general body injury was the description?). i still dont like the fact that your going to see players go for his hip now (and this goes the other way for other players)

Yeah you know whoever the Pens play will be going after Crosby's ankle.

I just wish whatever Injury Komi's got can heal fully, so then guys will be wasting their time trying to run Komisarek and open up more ice for the rest of the time.

The division is far from wrapped up...especially if the Habs continue to play the way they did last night. Nonetheless, Komi's got to get healthy for the playoffs...

I can't understand the logic behind the NHL brass as to why a team has to be specific about an injury. That gives the opposing teams a heads up on where to hit, or check the player. Can't a team just tell the NHL and leave at that, or am I just dumb?

Seems like it's a media move, the NHL wants the media to have more information to report. Like in baseball where the injury reports are always really specific, or everyone just mostly tears their rotator cuff, whatever.

and yet marinaro, back after a week off, insists it's a lower back injury and if the playoffs began tomorrow, komo would play
