Question about roller hockey

Alright, so I am probably going to pick up some roller blades today so whenever I can't go on the ice, I am at least out roller blading. What I wanted to know, is that if I can ice skate and play ice hockey, how hard will it be to pick up roller blading and just play for roller hockey for fun with some other kids?

I highly doubt that it should be that hard for you since you can play on ice. See, I play roller hockey but I never played ice hockey. I imagine the only thing that might be hard for you is learning how to stop. As long as your not looking to go game-like speed, I think you can be able to do it. But since it seems like your a begginner i would try to play somewhere smooth. Preferable a big driveway or a abandon parking lot. Then when you feel comfortable you can play on something that is more bumpy (i.e a street.).

the only difference will be trying to stop and turning on a sharp angle

Well, ice skating isn't the same exactly as roller blading. You'll probably feel a little uneasy and inconfident on your skates for a bit, but the difference isn't huge and you'll be fine.

Be sure to select a pair of skates with at least ABEC 7 bearings. Another option would be to compare the price on a decent hockey boot w/ lesser bearings and then purchase a set of better bearings. It might come out a little less expensive.
