Manny

hey guys. Ranger fan here, I come in peace.

I always liked Manny when he was here and thought he got a raw deal by basically being the scapegoat in Neil Smith/John Muckler war. I always thought he had potential to be a 3rd line center that was good defensively with the ability to contribute a bit offensively. Also the rep on him was that he had good leadership. With the way the schedule is I dont get to see him much as he is in the west and I dont have center ice. I heard he had a 3 point game recently. I was wondering what your thoughts were on him as you get to see him day to day.

Your post about sums it up. Until his recent 2 game outburst, he's been very quiet offensively. Tough on faceoffs, good defensively, ....quiet on offense.

Can we make him our designated penalty killer?

He's found his niche. Face off specialist and decent PKer. Is fit to play on 4th/ line of any team in the league while logging good PK time.

Yep, I agree. The problem is, a team only needs a couple of guys like him, we have a team full of them.

I think he could help you guys more than that Dubinsky guy...

Seriously, Manny is solid on the PK and excellent on faceoffs. He doesn't use his size like many would like him to and his offensive game is frustrating - to see him score some of the goals he does and miss so many others is baffling.

He would be a solid player for the 3rd or 4th line on any team. at $1.5M I think he might be a bit overpayed but in today's game it might be reasonable for what he offers.

Manny's biggest fault is his unwillingness to hit. He had a Pred lined up for the kill last night and pulled up at the last minute.

He could really improve his lot with the team if he would finish his checks.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I was at the game and was so disappointed when he did this. A few other Jackets had just pulled off a few hits too.

I ended up yelling "Manny! At least hit him with your purse!!"

I hear he's a pretty mean cook. Maybe he should have hit him with his skillet.
