If The Playoffs Were Today...

I don't want to get too ahead of myself here, but if the playoffs were today, we'd be up against Boston.

What do you think our chances are of getting past the first round - with the team as it is?

As a side note, my husband and I were discussing this scenario last night. He's a Bruins fan from way back. He said he'd cheer for the Bruins if it came down to a Bruins/Panthers series. I told him that we took Boston out of the playoffs once, and we'd do it again. He told me he would actually cry if the Bruins won the Cup.

It's weird because we've always played Boston well, except for this year.

There is still alot of games left in the season so to early to tell who we'd be up against when we do make it in. The Bruins would be a good series. My neighbor is a Bruins fan so we would probably watch some games together.

True to that! I feel like the Devils would sweep us just because we suck against them, but that we'd put up a fight against anyone else.

The one and only playoff game I ever went to was in 2000 when the Devils swept us. I pray if we make it that it doesn't happen again.

Scott (my husband) compromised and said he'd wear a Bruins/Panther combo jersey to the game if I made it for him. Not happening. You're either with us (Panthers) or against us. No riding the fence.

Boston would be soooo much more exciting than playing New Jersey.

FLA would tangle with the Bs. IMO the Bruins are playing over their heads.

B's I'm scared of this season.

I'd love to play the Crapitals and that overrated Theodore. Send Ovy home early in 6 or 7 game series!

No chance of this happening, but I'd like to see

BOS (1) - MON (8)
NJ (2) - BUF (7)
WAS (3) - PHI (6)
NYR (4) - FLA (5)

I think there's a chance of us getting 6th or maybe even higher. A lot can happen between now and mid-April. I hope we don't play Boston if we get in, they're just downright scary. I'd prefer New Jersey or Washington, they're great teams but not scary like Boston.

If the payoffs were today, I think the panthers would do pretty well. Maybe we'd need to add a bit more toughness for that Boston team. But these last two games, even with the clear win in both, I felt like the guys had another gear they weren't using. There's more in them than we've even seen in this last Habs game.

We will see in February who we match up better against. I think it would be Boston. We are a fast team, and we would match their speed, plus I feel much more comfortable going against a Thomas/Fernandez tandem in the playoffs, instead of Brodeur.

Hopefully we don't play Montreal, Rangers or Philly. Because all our games would be away games
