TSN Ice Chips said Koivu and Streit would both have x-rays today. The fact that they know there's a fracture doesn't, by itself, give them enough info to know how long he'll be out, IMO; I think the doctors will be able to give a better time frame tomorrow.

Figures... everyone talks about the Habs' great health situation throughout the seasons and they start dropping like flies just on the doorstep.

things arent making much sense

he got hit in the foot in his first shift last night...
if it's as severe as 4-6 weeks,
how was he able to play 15+ minutes after that shift?

When you have a broken foot that can take you off the team for 4 to 6 WEEKS, and when the playoffs approach, you feel it EVEN under adrenaline. Yet, he finished the game, and he was on for the GWG.

The length is bullcrap.

I knew this season was too good to be true...Injury wise I mean, we basically walked through the season with minor bumps and bruises until Komi got hurt. This really stings.

He got an assist on the GWG and looked pretty good in OT.
and he played with a broken foot ?

Anyway if it's indeed true it's a tough loss for sure.
I'm not a huge Koivu's fan but I know he's a playoffs performer.

I'll wait until I hear a report from an outlet that doesn't periodically make up trade rumours for ***** and giggles.

Calm down man,we're just extremely worried/pissed of the situation. It's still uncertain, nothing has been officially confirmed now.

Well...

I guess Grabovski is our new second line centre? Better get Chipchura up here ASAP as well.

I feel terrible as a fan, but I feel even worse for Saku. He's been here through some pretty miserable years and now that we're on top he's hurt again?

I've heard of a skate acting almost like a walking cast and preventing swelling quite a bit. If he kept his skates on until the game was over, then maybe... remember when Higgy had the ankle injury last year, he finished the game where it happened.

Actually it says ''this weekend''.

LOL at the all the bridge jumpers...the team 990 has been wrong before guys.

And no, La Presse did not report Komisarek's injury could take longer. In fact, I have the paper in front of me and it's clearly written the original timeframe of 3 weeks remains. Maybe the poster who wrote that is thinking of the Francois ''pessimist'' Gagnon's blog yesterday who thought that maybe Komisarek's injury is getting worse and that's why the Habs were releasing an update of his status.

He received that shot with not even 1min played in the game. At this time a year, I doubt he wouldn't have taken off his skates if he felt any kind of discomfort. Especially since we already clinched a spot.

I think its BS.

Im sure at least between periods he would have tried to remove his skates and if he felt anything while removing them, he wouldn't have dared to go back on the ice.

BS!!! or let's hope so at least!

I still don't believe it, you can't finish a game with a 4-6 weeks broken bone in the foot...sorry, I don't bite yet.

Oh please if it was bad enough that he cant play he would not have finished the game yesterday or at least he would have missed a shift. I think Crosby played with a broken foot all the way to the end of last season and he never seemed to affected by it.
