Always liked Keane, I hope he's right, though our recent slide is worrying me.

I think the team today has a lot of the same elements as back in 1993.. Leadership, young guys playing good hockey, good D and they are playing as a team. It's in between the pipes that I'm not sure about. I like Price and Halak, but I still think they could use a little more seasoning. I still think Price should be even better in the play-offs. But It's kind of hard for me to accept that he will be another Roy. Maybe it's because I've been fooled in the past with T-bo and Theo.. I have nothing against those two goalies, but they didn't turn out to be anywhere close to as good as Roy.

yeah, i agree with you in regards to price. when theo came in 96 everyone was hyping him up, saying he's gonn a be one of the best goalies in the east come playoff time (god, i was in gr 6 when this happenned...i feel old) and after two games he collapsed like a house of cards....that being said i still beleive he had the best helmet design of any goalie we have ever had

I think we had a few injuries that season too.

Schnieder I believe was hurt for a few games.

Others who missed games were Lebeau and Savard.

28 players suited up that year for at least 1 playoff game.

pretty sure that theo mopped up game 4 and 5 of the playoffs

if I remember correctly, he did pretty well. Game 4 was a 3OT win against bordeur

the winner was scored by patrice brisebois

I dunno why that game sticks in my memory but it does

winning 4 of 5 is sliding? I hope we slide right through the playoffs then.

Theo played 9 minutes in One game in 95-96 and only 16 games in 96-97.

Every year the Canadiens make the playoffs, players from 93 see similarities... It's nothing new, and means nothing... There are similarities between this year's team and the one that got killed by Tampa in 2004 for that matter!..

I know which game you are talking about..... it was the 97 playoffs though. 96 we lost 4-2 to the Rangers after winning the first two games at MSG.

I remember that, I was like 11.. It was one of the first years I actually followed the Habs all season long. Losing four in a row was such a let down.

We lost in 5.... got down 3-0 with Thibault in net..... Theo came in and stole game 4 to keep us alive (just a ridiculous goaltending performance) and then lost game 5.

We were outclassed in all five games by the devils though.... they were just a better team at that time.

Haha, thank you dude, I appreciate it, I haven't been posting much on HF recently for a variety of reasons, the most important being I'm spending more time on my own new forum.

But yeah, the Habs are still my team, whether certain posters that came over to the Caps board yesterday to bash me in a certain thread believe it or not.
