Staal better get more ice time today, sure he probably had his worst game as a Ranger 2 games ago, but to drop his ice time to just over 12 minutes yesterday was ridiculous, especially since he had a great bounce back game and I thought was one of the better defenseman on the ice.

Let's see some movement low on the power play and try to open up some space between the points and the top pk'ers. We need more shots from the point to at least grant the illusion that the pp point ment are out there for another reason than to pass the puck to stationary players.

Amen, it's ridiculous how many bad 2nd periods we've had at home.

I agree. He's not the whole team, of course, but he was invisible yesterday. I want people chanting his name again.

He's not the whole team. But he's the only guy who can do what he does.

On a side note, Hollweg has been invisible since his return to the lineup.

Agree about Avery..In addition, Dawes has been a non-entity also....

As for Hollweg, not sure how visible a guy averaging 3:30 a night is supposed to be especially when it seems he is just being told to focus on playing defense and not screwing up at a new position...All that being said, the 4th LINE had two verg good shifts in the 3rd period yesterday and I hope they get a few more tonight..

They will be together comes playoff time. Sather doesn't want Avery to boost up his regular season stats in remaining meaningless games. That will complicate the contract negotiations in the summer. If we are in trouble getting into PO (improbable, but possible) Renney will restore that 1st line sooner.

The guy is only good when runs unopposed. For example, in shootout.

Anyway.. Good luck tonight.. Should be a good game, and I'd be surprised if the Rangers don't come out and dominate this game. The Pens have a history of taking games off when they shouldn't, and I have a feeling the Rags are gonna bring it good tonight.

Go Pens anyway!

Tyutin doesnt need to hit the net. Tyutin needs to hit players. I'd be fine with Tyutin NOT shooting the puck ever.

I just saw those two saves Lundqvist made yesterday cause I missed them... wow. Out of the 20 shots the Penguins had yesterday it seemed like more than half of them were scoring chances.

Anyway, we better show some heart tonight. Yesterday was hard to watch, even though luck wasn't exactly on our side with the terrible ref calls

So in order for the Rangers to win the Pens need to take a night off?

I guess I'm still crabby about yesterday!

Well the bottom line is the Rangers do have to bring it big time tonight except they can't get away from their game. Play the system and things should take care of themselves. no matter the opponent.

The Rangers have competed against the Penguins with and without Sidney Crosby. They've beaten that team in both scenarios. While last time at home they got the job done against Pittsburgh, Crosby was sidelined. If the Rangers want to consider themselves a legit threat in the playoffs, they have to beat teams like the Penguins at home and against them at full strength.

Bottom line, I want revenge for yesterday. That loss was purely a joke beyond itself. Someone on this Rangers team better put Crosby in his place or they're not making any needed statement to Pittsburgh and to the league.

This team needs to come out and throw the body; hit everything in sight, and force those turnovers.

I was at the game yesterday about 10 rows up from where the Pens shoot twice and you are spot on. You guys out shot us, but I think you had about half the scoring chances... Good luck tonight.

Good luck tonight boys, may the best team win. Hope it'll be even more physical than yesterday. Looking forward to seeing two great playoff contenders square off for the second day in a row.

NY has to set the tone early, and then maintain it for the rest of the game. They can't take the 2nd period off like most nights, 2 points are needed.
