They showed a stat since they got the new head coach:

Caps have had the 2nd best record in the east since the coaching change, something like 35-16-??(forgot the OT).

And add the fact that you know Ovy is just going to go crazy in the postseason, Grreen could probably destory us alone as he's becoming quite the Ranger killer, and they have 2 solid goalies....a big PASS to them please.
well yea but maybe brash will do something dumb like punch jagr lol

I was pullin for the Caps to win this one. If we can't beat the Isles then that is just sad on our part.

I go to school outside DC and it would be great if the Caps made the playoffs. That town could definitely use some hockey fever.

Although the Caps certainly scare me with all their young talent, pretty much every other team in the East is dangerous in their own way. Would you rather play Montreal, with their raucous crowd and everything? Or the Sens, who've been struggling lately, but have the capability of being nearly unbeatable? Or Pittsburgh, with their offensive firepower? Or the Devils (I know we've have their number this year, but nearly every game has been close; and they still have Marty)?

If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best. If it's the Caps we're facing, bring 'em on. I'm sure they're just as scared of us as we are of them, if not more.

Yea, we really want the Canes, I want no part of the Capitals...

That being said, glad they didn't clinch it for us. I want that to be our job.

So you rather stress and hope having to win one more game, when the Caps could have done the job for us.:

wow....here's a scenario I never saw coming at begining of the season. If the Sens lose the last 2 games and Washington wins, there's a good chance they'll take the playoff spot and the Sens will be on the outside looking in.

Beginning of the season? Heck, who would have called that only two weeks ago?

If the Caps win both, the Senators only have to lose one game to be out. Washington has the second tiebreaker (4-0 vs. Ottawa). If the Senators lose both of their games remaining, the Caps can even lose a game and they'd still make it.

Or, what's really crazy is if the Hurricanes lose one of their last two games they could miss the playoffs altogether, and the Caps would end up with the 3 seed!
