A Rod is worth every penny.
What does it really speak to? How much the Yankees are willing to pay to contend year in and out, or how cheap the Marlins are?
Yankees would do better if the played against 12 year old teams too.

What's the point when they slapped around the money flinging Blue Jays?
It's not like they're the only team that drops cash, they just get consistent results.
A-Rod put it to them early tonight, earning his cash.
The worst part about summer is baseball. To me, its like watching paint dry. Especially with so many games... I think this summer I will be into the CFL again providing the EE aren't so stinky. I'm not a bandwagon fan, I am just more of an NFL fan and it might take the Esks going on a little roll to get me out to the games, and I might be able to garner some interest that way. They are cheap and fun to go to I guess, I will probably check out a few even if they arent that great.
You do realize the real reason some baseball teams are a joke right?
Cheap-skate owners who won't spend for talent and make insane amounts of money as a result.
This season should be really great. Lots of new, young talent around. Some interesting moves made in the offseason, and my Yankees finally get to rid themselves of guys like Mussina and Giambi! (here's hoping)
You must realize the inherent problem in this thought process. I used to be a ball fan but since I cheer for the Jays and they have no realistic shot at the playoffs in that division, its hard for a casual fan to care. I'm sure Yanks and Sox fans love the sport, but without any hope, the casual fans will move on to something else. They either need to expand the playoff pool or put all the top spenders in one division. Tell me, if I lived in Tampa Bay, why would I consider buying season tickets?
