Kudos to the young kids for putting together a nice run, but lets not lose sight of the big picture here.
The Oilers are in 10th place and won't make the playoffs for the 3rd time in 7 seasons under Craig MacTavish, who has again successfully set the bar so low that failure is still regarded as some kind of success.

Good to see you're going back to your old style of posting.
Next season should be fun watching the young teams in the west - Edmonton, Chicago, and Phoenix are all up and coming teams witha core of great, young players.

I too found the kids to be a revelation...but this movie is getting a bit old.
****in stol needs to go, i dont want him here next year even if he performs. He sucked for the last 81 games and has been nothing but a penaltmachine., **** him i want him out i would rather have another checker than him
I agree. Stoll is done as an Oiler. Not an ounce of improvement from game 1.
I'd love for JDD, Schremp, Trukhno to play the last game if possible. Give Hemsky a rest because of his knee(? - looked like a bad slash by Aucoin).

Reason: typo
Hard to fault the guy at this point. Nobody's gonna pick up his contract though, and I highly doubt they buy it out. He'll be back until at least next year's deadline.
I don't really fault the guy, he's just not a winner and the Oilers need to move on. Hopefully Katz buys him out.
I don't know how anyone can consider this season a disappointment. The team showed absolutely no quit, there are 8 good young players to be excited about (Nilsson, Gagner, Cogliano, Gilbert, Grebeshkov, Pitkanen, Glencross, Brodziak). Even Smid and Greene took steps forward.
Is there anyone who does not want to give GlenX a 3 year contract at $1.5 million per season...........
I will completely lose it if Lowe screws this up.
This is his chance to make good on the Smyth fiasco and his other negotiating blunders. God help him if he messes up and Curtis isn't back next season.
