What a run...most fun I've had watching hockey in a long time. New owner, new goalie, new attitude, new energy...not a bad ending to what looked like it was going to be another tough year.
I don't know how anyone can consider this season a disappointment. The team showed absolutely no quit, there are 8 good young players to be excited about (Nilsson, Gagner, Cogliano, Gilbert, Grebeshkov, Pitkanen, Glencross, Brodziak). Even Smid and Greene took steps forward.
I will truly thank the Oilers if they lay down and die on Thursday against my Canucks... by the looks of things against the Avs we will need you to if we want to make the playoffs.

Congratulations to Sam Gagner for a ridiculous season as an 18 year old. Congratulations to Dustin Penner for building on a poor start and not allowing it to ruin his season. Congratulations to Robert Nilsson for digging down deep, taking a good look in the mirror and doing what he had to do to become an NHL player. Congratulations to Andrew Cogliano and Tom Gilbert for fantastic rookie seasons. Congratulations to Fernando Pisani for overcoming all odds to finish the season on pace to score 20 goals. Congratulations to Geoff Sanderson on a splendid career. Congratulations to Curtis Glencross to playing with his heart on his sleeve and proving his worth in the NHL. Congratulations to Matthieu Garon to proving he can start for an NHL team. Congratulations to Zach Stortini and Marc Pouliot for answering the bell and having the will to carve themselves out an NHL career. Congratulations to Brodziak for a fantastic rookie season. Congratulations to Matt Greene and Ladislav Smid building upon their games immensely this season. Congratulations to Steve Staios for hanging in their and providing much needed veteran leadership on this team. Congratulations to Roli for playing his heart out down the stretch when everyone was counting him out, and making several huge saves to keep the team alive.
