Tommy Salo.

As much as I believe that Telly has the potential to become a better goaltender than Salo - Telly hasn't proven anything in the NHL yet.

Salo has at least had some really good NHL seasons.

Tellqvist could possibly become better, but it won't be by much if it happens.
Salo has already proven himself a solid NHL starter.

Gotta go with the proven guy here, Salo gets the nod from me.

Considering Salo can barely hold onto a starting role in Edmonton, this isn't a question of "who would you rather have as your #1?".

It's more like... "who would you rather add to your organization?"

33 year old expensive goalie with a decline in performance over the last 3 years... or a 24 year old goalie with a brighter future... a young goalie that's outperformed Salo in International events.

Salo wouldn't serve as a #1 on 95% of the teams in the NHL... so it's a matter of who you'd rather have for possibly the rest of the season, the playoffs, and the future.

The poll is a little odd for a lack of better words, but I i'll try and go by this definition.

A playoff team, I would go with Salo for the rest of season and playoffs, although his playoff record is not stellar, experience helps.

A rebuilding team or non playoff team would likely go with the future that is Tellqvist, simply based on future potential.

Simply, imo its whether or not your team will be golfing or not. The fact that the age difference is so great, it would be ridiculous to ask who you like in your organisation without having other info ie. prospect depth, payroll, goaltending depth etc.

Man I don't think you can post something like this, it is clearly a pro-tellqvist post hoping to sway the vote.

I think any team would rather have a young goalie then Tommt Salo including the Oilers. Not just Tellqvist, the Oilers would trade Salo for a 3rd round pick right now, he doesn' have much value at all.

Then why did you vote for Salo

oh, silly me, its because Tellqvist is leaf property and heavan forbid a leaf should win a poll. Nobody cares if you vote for Salo, its stupid to say that you wouldnt take either goalie than vote for one. Just say Salo next time....

UC, when it comes to anything having to do with the Leafs... you come off as pathetic. And I also suggest you get your name changed... because if it was something like "GOHABSGO!", you'd get more respect.

Damn good goalie, a great winning instinct.. and a very down to earth person.
