More Call Ups

Per Puck Rackers both Modin (head) and Vyborny (flu) out. Howson won't call up anyone till later tonight. Ladies and Gentlemen - Your Syracuse Crunch (with some Columbus Blue Jackets joining in). Detroit is going to be an ugly one.

Who will they call up

1.) Brassard will be my guess as the first one.

Brass already got his show.

I'm betting Adam Pineault. He got called up last season and couldn't make it cuz of weather. He's been playing well all season, from SCF's posts. Plus, he hasn't seen ice time as a Jacket yet.

Lets see what he can do, eh?

It's a shame Trent Vogelhuber is still out with a Knee Injury. At this rate he'd be on our first line by the St. Louis game.

Since it's only 1-3 games, I'd do Brassard, to see how he does now that he's had a taste of the NHL.

I've seen Brass in the NHL and wasn't impressed. I'm willing to wipe the slate clean in the offseason and see what the kid can do, but considering this is just a handful of games, gives us a taste of Pineault or Sestito instead for now.

Agreed. Brassard had his chance...then went to the Cuse and pouted. I still think that there has to be some reason they snuck him down there during Foote Gate and never said a word....and neither has the Dispatch.

Sestito would be my call.

You don't want that, you'll be trying to get rid of the taste all summer. He's not ready.

It'll probably be Pineault, since Modin hasn't been playing anyway, and Vybes is a wing. Only other option IMO would be Dorsett, but Pineault is the better of the two.

Thank god after tonight the next two Crunch games before everyone comes back are Rochester (the worst team in the AHL). Those games might be competitive now.

well methot just got sent back down as per theahl.com transactions, so im guessing the defensemen situation is capped off??

as far as a forward and who to take..... couldn't have picked a worse time to take konopka, but thats the business of hockey.. oh well, hopefully we can get OT for that playoff point!

I'm hoping for Pineault.

I haven't had my hopes of him being a good NHL player dashed yet and would like to get the process started early.

Geez.

I would be really depressed right now if we were holding on to a playoff and ran through this rash of injuries.... Must be from all the guys "paying the price" and getting injured. Oh wait....

What is with Andrei Plekhanov? Is he a potential call-up in the future?

I watched a Crunch game about a week and half ago and the announcers said that Brassard had requested his own return to the Crunch saying he'd rather play twenty minutes a night in Syracuse than five minutes a night in Columbus.

Assuming he went down a good attitude and took to heart the things that he needed to improve, I think it's a mature request.

If he went down and felt like he should have been given more ice time while he was up here, then it was probably more of a selfish request.

But it is interesting.

I'm going to form an unshakable opinion as to which of these I think it is, even though I don't know and have no way of knowing and even if I did it wouldn't be totally trustworthy but I'm going to do it nonetheless.

Yes, and someone is going to be called up along with Konopka, hence the thread.

Go with the the ever popular option C.

Hitch hates kids, especially if you are an undersized kid. So he had no chance, at all, of ever getting more then 7 minutes a game. And he was lucky to get that. Didn't matter if he was good or not. Could have played like the next Crosby, but Peca would have gotten his minutes.
