hahahah.. we nailed your teams ass once again. this is the part of revolution in finnish hockey. espoo taking over jokerit and hifk. your team was one pathetic group of million players. im not trying to insult, im saying the truth.

its pity that you cant even give any respect to a better team. next we prolly gonna win kärpät and make our city more and more famous. its not suprise that espoo is rising year after year. not only team but also city. i would rather jump from a bridge than leave espoo for hellsinki

Congrats to the Blues!

What makes this significant is that, as far as I understand, it qualifies the Blues in to the euroleague.
And a team will get 300.000 euros just for qualifying. Thats no small change when talking about SM-Liiga teams income.

That's just too funny coming out of Blues' fan mouth and what is Espoo Blues full of? Brückler, Eaves, Keller, Öhman, Rajamäki, Osala, Clarke... Come on man! Enjoy the win, better team won I was just laughing at your city comment and I believe you can't match with Kärpät so silver it is!

I have to give respect for Blues' junior work...lot of teams like Jokerit should do the work with a-juniors <--> sm-liiga level as good as Blues have done.

As a foreigner who has spent lots of time in Finland...

Espoo certainly aint a city... i took a train there and realised that!

As for the Blues, nice shirt but one of the more boring, least interesting teams in Finland.

Congrats on your win, now you can enjoy watching a real hockey club skate rings round you for the next 4 games.

I'm happy that Blues won, but I wouldn't be too cocky as being Blues-fan. It's first final and if Blues won't win, then no1 will remember final place in 10 years or so.

And Espoo is nice place to visit, but it's just suburban for Helsinki really, no1 coming outside Finland wouldn't know it being own city.

and where did u get the idea that blues is putting million on these players? NO, especially osala who is young and cheap and all the other guys play much better than they cost. Lehtonen, Lajunen, t.Sallinen, j.Sallinen, Kurki are just few examples of guys who comes from our own juniors and these guys really get ice-time. this is fantastic team mixed with great talented finns and good guys from abroad.

That's what I was thinking too. I've hated Blues for a few seasons now (they've been getting too good, beating HIFK in the regular season and now in the playoffs as well), but I'm glad they beat Jokerit and I will be even more happy if they manage to beat Kärpät... those guys have won enough championships for a while now.

I'm in the bandwagon!

Mostly because I want only bad things for Kärpät.

Ok Osala might be the only "cheap there as a Caps org. player" but the other ones...big laugh I believe Blues have learned something in Kohn case but they are still big spenders no matter what you say but they are in the finals so it doesn't matter that much...you gotta give some to get some.

Like Clarke and Öhman? Sorry but it's absurd to Blues-fan to say about millions and rich teams, while Blues have been doing most loss from SM-liiga teams and every year have been in top-4 or so when it comes to playerbudgets. Without Salonoja Blues wouldn't have their Arena nor most of these top players and it might have been going bankrupt already.

I was gonna say... havent Blues been the biggest underachievers in the past 5 years, with their big budgets and no medals.

Why are you people laughing at the city comment? Espoo IS a city and as far as I am concerned, Espoo is the best place in Finland to live in.

Too bad Blues beat Jokerit though. But I'm fine as long as Kärpät don't win the chapmpionship once again.

Now now now... Jokerit is a fine team in 21st century really, if ever they've won Kärpät in the FEL playoffs, they've got their gold. No mention about 4 losses to Kärpät. Blues did a fine job as a Team to beat a non coached roster of stars (really, that roster should've just walked all over every team in FEL this season!). Congrats for the first try in FEL finals!

Blues has played Kärpät twice in playoffs, and lost both. 3rd times the charm? Doubt it, gold goes where it belongs to.

As mentioned Espoo is just Helsinki's suburbans for foreigner(and most of finnish as well) ppl. And for me it's just small villages/cities all over without real seeing City or Downtown.

Not saying it wouldn't be nice place to live, but it isn't really feeling such a city for me.
