Well then tell me, what goalie IS coming close?

Moreover, when did I say no other was coming close in the first place?

I don't see why it's wrong to hope and dream for it..it's not like it's impossible for Price to do so, just not likely.

What goalie is coming close to what? you should specify what you mean, coming close to which of Brodeur's records?

Does it really matter? Why are we arguing this?

And you still haven't answered what goalies you think have a chance to break it.

I was really specifying overall win records if that's what you really wanted to know. Nabokov might tie his record for most wins though...

Break what?

You can't even mention what you want him to break. You should just quit now. And no other goalie is coming close to what?

I just did. My statement was really meant to be a braod sweeping generalization of Brodeur's (eventual) records.

I don't see why you're getting all nitpicky over this.

Ok there, good replies. So your saying no goalie is close to beating any of Brodeur's records but Price is. Good game.

No, if you'd read properly, I said that I believe Price has the potential of doing it.

To make things easier for you, I believe Price has the best chance at doing it than any other goalie.

There. Now this thread has been ruined with useless bickering.

Read your posts, this is what you said.

No other goalie is close of doing "it". Whit out ever mention what "it" is.

If you don't wanna "bicker", stop posting.

I've already mentioned that it referred to Brodeur's eventual records, take your pick; namely his overall win record though.

God.

Still posting? took you 7 posts to actually mention what your "it" was.

There are a bunch of goalies closer to breaking the wins record, which i don't think will happen because of the Jersey system that favors defense. But do i want him to break the win record while playing for Montreal sure. If he ever leaves Montreal, i could care less.

And im not God

price is off to an exclusive start to his young career, it's easy to see he's the real deal.
anyways i'm very proud in the management to have spotted this increadible talent, even though it was an unpopular pick management made the right decision and now they got there number 1 goalie for the next 20 years (hopefully).

anyways GO PRICE GO

And now, at 20 years old..a number 1 goaltender in the NHL..for the most storied franchise in hockey history.

Agreed. I am so happy to have him in Montreal. I was angered at gainey and Timmins for taking him instead of Kopitar and Brule. Now, I am looking very foolish because his abilities are of the generational level. Add to this the plethora of defensive and offensive prospects we have. I must say that we are seeing the birth of something special in Habland.

Was watching The Spin last night on The Score and they were talking about Carey. All three of Kouleas, Stratchan and Osborne all said that Price should and will win the Calder. I know that won't be a popular opinion or decision on HF (because pretty much everyone hates the Habs and Price) but oh well. They better get use to the idea.

I know I was skeptical before, but the kid is on fire!!!! He's playing great and I'm really starting to like Bob Gainey's decision to trade Huet to make Price the starter.

I do think that Price has an outside shot of breaking the wins record if he puts up any kind of pace. Remember this is the era of shootout wins that Brodeur did not enjoy for the first dozen or so years of his career.

Brodeur also had a a very solid team infront of him throughout his career, in today's system we'll have to question whether we can keep a team as good as this one infront of Price his whole playing career.

I dont really think that is a question,,,,,,if you look at our current roster and prospects we should be good for years.

No doubt, but you just never know.. Some of our prospects are bound to not work out, too.. We just can't tell yet, its too soon. But i think if we keep a team of this caliber together throughout his career, he will atleast be in the top 5 all-time in most goaltending categories.
