D'Agostini: How much did he play?

I only saw half the game and was doing many things at the same time..

How much did he play? I heard someone was hurt. Was it him? I didn't see him play in the 3rd..

He got hurt but stayed in the game. His face hit the boards and he had a bloody nose.Played ok,set up Sergei for 2 great scoring chances and a beautiful pass from behind the net. He's still has some learning to do but he will get there

Played 8 minutes and 49 seconds. He looked good out there. Made some nice passes. Saw him on the PP at one point as well. It was only 1 game though, but I think with time, he'll develop nicely.

D'ago played better than i thought he would, I was pretty impressed. Wasn't bad in his own end and made some pretty nice plays, one being a sweet pass to Sergei who almost scored.

That's at least 3 times I've read the comparison to Higgins (maybe by the same poster). I don't get the similarity at all. D'Ago is all skating/finesse and Higgins is the opposite, a checking bull who's most effective getting his nose dirty.

Yeah, D'Agostini really is the opposite. He gets his nose dirty in an ineffective and bloody way.

They look alike, not play alike.

He seems to have the skills to play in the NHL and is not afraid of traffic. I'm not sure he will be in the top 12 next year, but he could be #13 or one of the first callups in case of injury. He may nev er be a top 6 forward but I think if they work with him, he could be a good PK, 2 way guy who can score 15-20 a year.

He didn't play at all actually, Dave Morissette was dressed at the last minute and took his place

That was unusual, Sergei JR was the one getting passes tonight. It's too bad he didn't shoot he could have scored a goal or two. Decent 1st game for him he must be happy right now.

Not only he looks like Higgins the way he skate/looks but he's also going in traffic. Maybe Chris has more grit and Matt has better passing abilities but they are very similar imo.

I saw him in the rookie camp. He looked good. I expected more out of him in Hamilton. But that's ok. As long as he can develop with time.

I agree he looked good.... I think he needs another 1/2 year - 1 year in Hamilton though...

When i saw his face hit the glass and then just shoot down, i was wondering if he busted his nose on the red railing, and it looks like he did, lol but he took it like a G, hell be fine

He didnt look out of place, thats what i liked

Grabo and Locke both looked out of place their first NHL games

I'm happy with the way he played! He'll be a NHL player for sure...

But I think he's pretty small for a guy of his size. He should try to add some muscles on his frame. If he want to, he could probably be in Higgins shape within a year of training.

Well I know he was compared to Higgins in the summer as far as numbers go, but not really style of play.

I really like D'Agostini and I think he can be a Gilchrist/Brunet-type at worst maybe a Jason Blake at best.

I've always found D'Agostini and Grabovski look awfully similar in how they play.

he looked well
He's going to fight for a job next year. Probably won't get one, but I see him playing around 15 games with the habs as a first call-up.

He needs to get used to the NHL game more than anything else imo, its quite unfair to watch a rookie 2 games before the end of the season play his first game. He makes me think of Pominville.

I'm happy from what I see. If Ryder doesn't resign, he will be able to take his place in the line-up next year and be effective.

It's because he actually looks exactly like Higgins. People see their faces (seriously, they're freaking twins) and then assume they're the same player.
