I don't want to choose. Just try to be the higher as possible. I don't want to see Boston again. 8th times this year and last 2 first round victory against them... Anybody else is good for me.

Edit: Here the match-up who could be good to see:

MTL 1st VS Philly 8th
Pitts 2nd VS Sens 7th
WAS 3rd VS Boston Ruins 6th
NJ 4th VS NYR 5th

I want to see Crosby and co against Ottawa this year take revenge. One of the funniest game of the year I see was Washington scoring something like 8 or 10 goals against Thomas. I think Philly could be a good match-up for us because of their speed(more than Boston, atleast) and Briere's story. Finally, Devils and Rangers are a good rivalry and I would'nt be sad to see one of them be out of the road after 1st round.

i'd prefer to not play the bruins so that me and my buddy's doug and mike can watch hockey together(they are bruins fan lol) as they refuse to watch the bruins play the habs at my house.

so that leaves me to pick Phili. they are the easiest opponent that might make it at 8th. but then again we may finish 2nd and play the 7th seed.

well i just don't want to face the sens thats all anyone else bring it. THe sens may have exorcised their demons against the leafs and be on a tear starting now. So let someone else play the sens.

From a winning perspective point of view I'd rather face the Bruins but it seems we play against them every year so I'm kind of getting bored about that.

I'd prefer Philadelphia over the other teams. But really it doesn't matter, as this team is able to win any of those.

Doesn't matter, either way you need to win 4 of 7 to go on and that is going to be a hard battle against any team.

If I had a choice? Washington.

Sure they are hot, but shut down Ovy and his line and you shut down the Caps...plus I would love for Price to prove Gainey correct in his dealing of Huet, and who wouldn't want the "student" to beat the "teacher"...makes for an interesting plot.

When we won the cup in 93 We had to face our biggest and most hated rivals at the time the Nordiques in the first round and that paved the way for us.....This Year that team is Ottawa. Something tells me if we get through the Sens in round 1 then we have a date with With the West!!!

I don't want to face Boston because sooner or later they are going to win games against us and I'd rather those games be regular season games instead of playoff games.

A nice easy round against Philly could be what the doctor ordered.

I don't have a preference in terms of who the Habs play.

With the way the Leafs were running around last night, I'm more concerned with the Canadiens icing a healthy lineup in the first round.

I really don't have a preference except for which team I do NOT want to play. And that's Washington.

I don't know why anyone should be afraid of Washington, they could very well be the Pittsburgh Penguins of last year and bow out in 5 games.

I think we matchup well against any team. Sometimes a team like Boston can be dangerous, because even though we have had their number for a year and a half - the playoffs are a new season.

Even Philly has some quality players.

When you really take a look at the standings, it's like 8-10 points separating first from eighth - so it's not THAT much of a mismatch with any opponent.

If I had my preference though, I would like to play against Carolina - we owe them.

I choose Philly, but I don't care who the opponent is. All will fall before the mighty Habs!

The only team on there I do not want to play is Ottawa, they might be struggling but if they ever get it together they can beat us.

Washington is seriously overrated, it would look bad on Gainey if Huet put us out though... So i can understand the whole "our pride is on the line" in not wanting to face them, but I believe we'd dispose of them quite easily.

Boston is a team that has something to prove if they play us, they have lost 11 straight to the Habs...do you really think they want to lose 4 straight to us? NO.

They would probably play us harder than any other team right now. With Ottawa's bad goaltending, and Alfie and Fisher banged up they maybe a good 1st round apponent...I still think the Caps would be a very good series for us to win and to prove some people or doubters wrong in the Huet trade, Price would step up big time to back his GM!

+1

I've thought the same thing since the first time us facing Washington became a possibility.

I don't know why everyone is fearing Boston out of "karma", the only way they beat us in a 7 game series is if we don't show up. 8-0 is not a lack of effort on their part, its just a horrible horrible style match up. It would take a monumental meltdown on our end to loose that series.

I was listening the HabsInsideOut podcast and they brought up the game puck after Price's shutout against Ottawa. He said it was nice but wished he has been able to save his first shutout game puck.

But some jackass named Daniel Briere decided it would be cool to flip the puck up into the stands.

So I'm sort of on the fence between Boston and Philly in terms of preference.

In the end I don't really mind any of our possible matchups it will be a very entertaining April.

If there is anything I have realized from watching all kinds of sports is that adjustments are imperative to victory.

Now it might be possible that Julien has been slow at implementing an alternate strategy to counter the Habs' speed but NEVER put it out of the realm of possibility.

Julien will play with 5 men back and try to keep the score close hoping for a miracle.

I think we match up well against them, but like another poster said - they would play harder against us than they would against anybody just to try to prove us wrong.

Those past 11 games mean nothing now.

Well, Habs will be more than a little embarrassed if they lose to Washington or Boston, though I think we can handle them both easily. I voted Washington, but I'd love to see a Pitts-Wash 1st round.

Beating Carolina would be great revenge.

Ottawa would be a pretty intense series and provide some good entertainment.

Philadelphia would probably be a cake walk.
