Colorado-Boston proposal

with the injury to Hinote, i could see the Avs doing something like this:

TO BOSTON:

Martin Skoula, Washington's 3rd rounder

TO COLORADO:

Hal Gill, Travis Green

Although he is not exactly a fan favorite, there is no reason to believe that the B's would be trading away big Hal.

He has been on the team as long as anybody and leads the team in +/-

If the B's weren't contenders it may be a different story, but I don't think they will be dumping veteran guys at the deadline. Murray and Rolston included

I can't see the B's making that deal.

Boston is a playoff team. If you want Defensive help for Colorado think of a non-playoff team to trade with.

Not a bad mood....you made a proposal and I gave the answer....the same answer MOC would give.

Gill has had one heckuva year and being in the playoff run we are not giving away Green for a pick. We acquired Green for the playoffs. That is where his value is.

if Gill is having a heck of a year, i'm sure another defenseman would do. i thought he was more of a depth guy. O'Donnell?

and you got Green for a 6th rounder. a very high 3rd rounder would be gravy.

Skoula and a 3rd rounder might not even land Hal Gill. Gill is having a good year while Skoula continues to be Colorado's whipping boy. I dont think Boston can afford to give up Gill for that, much less throw in Travis Green.

odonnell is more likely to be moved. gill was on the block earlier this year, but has really elevated his game the last 20 games or so. he's also become ornery, which is very welcome on our backline.

as for green, i'd agree with you if we were say, the blackhawks. improving from a 6th to a 3rd rounder would be great. but we aren't chicago (sorry to use them, but they were the first poor team i thought of) and green is important for the postseason.

they have about 67 points, smells like contender to me.... Skoula is an average guy playing in a very good system. Hal is cool although I still remember the time when Gagne practically shanked him, Green is a decent 4th line center.

please don't use that regular season point example, there are too many examples to refute that as a less than solid premise

Then what in your mind makes a team a contender? We are in the top four of our conference. We have beaten Colorado, Detroit twice, Dallas twice, and we are playing about 13 games over .500. What else do you want? Anyone who gets in the playoffs is a contender.

They play the games for a reason champ.

I have not seen a whole lot of B's games, but they always play the Flyers tough and how can you count out a team with Potvin?

Just say you dont get it so we can all move along.

The point is that everyone is a contender no matter what your all knowing self thinks. The Ducks proved that last year. It doesnt matter what they are doing this year. How you cant understand that tells me that you dont want to admit that you were wrong or what is more frightening.....you dont know you are. Either way it boils down to you being wrong.
