He wasn't great on it at all, he got beat by the fake so he had to trip Roy and get a penalty...thats pretty much the opposite of Great..

I will say Breezer has been better, but you chose some very bad examples
I'm sorry but that was played perfectly by Brisebois. It was a bad call.

I know I'll get flamed, but if we need to sign a veteran defenseman for next season as a 7th/8th, Brisebois (at a reduced salary of course) could be a decent option. If we can limit his exposure like Carbo is doing now he can serve us well as depth and leadership.

I dont like Brisebois but i agree on that too. Brisebois did what he had to do as a defensemen, playing the body not the puck, but Roy dove. Too bad that results to the lone goal against Price.

Brisebois for the Norris and Hart trophys!!!!

Patrice Brisebois is probably one of the best defencemen to ever play in the NHL. I think he'll win all the NHL awards this year and he'll re-sign with the Habs for $10/year for another 5 years and lead the team to 5 straight Stanley Cups!

I said this about a week ago.

Unless Valentenko OR Emelin (if he comes over) can outplay Bouillon for the #6 spot.. I think that Brisebois (or someone like Brisebois) will be signed. We need a good solid veteran as the #7 (especially with such a young team).

If Bouillon gets beat out by Vally, Emelin or even Cote.. than Brisebois will probably become a coach of some sort within the organization, while Bouillon becomes the #7. But if not, I could easily see him being re-signed for 700K (or again, a veteran defenseman like him).. because we don't want our young guys (Vally, etc) rotting in the pressbox.

However, I'm glad to see that Brisebois is playing a more solid game. I've noticed recently that he's playing the game more simple and without risks .. (and somehow scoring PTS too.. 3 PTS in his last 7 GP.. +3 also) .. I'm sure he's going to be just as solid in the playoffs if O'Byrne struggles or injuries arise. He's a helpful veteran and I'm glad to see him playing well again. It's too bad I missed this game.

With all the things that went well for the Habs this year, you prefered to use your avatar to ***** about Brisebois, our 8th or something defenseman, who watched most games from the stands while never complaining about it and giving the best he got when we needed him.

Now that's a fan

Theres a reason most of us have Puckhead on ignore .

Plus, $10 a year.. that's a bargain for any NHL player..

We've seen this before, he'll play 10 solid games and suck again. Good for him for playing mistake-free hockey, but I expect him to falter again.

The Ref must have blinked because he saw a guy coming in 1 on 1 against Patrice and after a couple of seconds when the player had not had an excellent scoring chance or scored and was on his belly the ref put 1 and 1 together, knowing that Brisebois is incapable of stopping a child 1 on 1.

Don't act like you don't have a job.

And the pay must suck.

Speaking of which how much does Guy Bertrand pay you to bask Koivu online?

Gotta give credit, where credit is due, and although I am not a fan of Briser, he has in the last two games been very steady...in a limited role, 12-14 minutes, he can still be a help to the team...

Geezzz...you guys are harsh....I was simply saying how much I love Brisebois and you guys took it the wrong way!!

Its funny how some people take these posts so seriously...what good would HFBoards be if everybody agreed on everything and we all had the same opinion? There would be no point of having these discussion boards at all.

The guy sucks.....its no secret. I would rather have some rookie playing defence, making rookie mistakes than to have Brisebois back there with 12 years experience making the same rookie mistakes.

Sorry for not being completely in love with Brisebois!!!!

Hating a player because he doesn't care about the team, because he's lazy or because he has a bad attitude that's fine. But hating him (or worst: booing him) because you think he's not good enough for the team that's just moronic. Saying a guy sucks has nothing to do with expressing an opinion in a discussion, it's just a personal attack. If Brisebois was right now in our top-6 I would be the first to say that's not his place, that's O'Byrne should take his spot since he brings a physical presence, etc, etc. If you want to attack someone, make sure he's an azzhole. And as far as I know, that's not the case.

Exemple in another context: I don't like Stephan Harper as a PM, I would never vote for him, but I understand that (unless he hides something) he's not a bad person. He simply has a different mentality than me. And when he does something good, I'll "praise" him for it. As long as I feel he's working for Canadians and that he cares about it, even if I feel he's doing it the wrong way, I'll have respect for him.

But I really don't understand what Brisebois has done this year to deserve the hate some people have against him. Same for every Habs players this year.

As for Brisebois playing instead of Valatenko or Carle, I think it's safe to say they aren't good enough to play in the NHL right now. If we were outside of the playoffs race, a case could be made, but as it is, we are a cup contender, and Brisebois brings some stability within his limitations that the defensemen in Hamilton or even Streit can't bring.
