Well, we can't have everything...

I'm assuming then that no center on Montreal fits that description?

Deadmarsh's salry on NHLPA is 3 mill, but I could have sworn I saw 3.75 mil somewhere else
Allison makes 8 mill this year

thanks for the info.

I though both had been out most of the yr and insurance kicked in after 30 games or so.

There's a rumour going around Calgary today that says Turek + Gauthier for Primeau. Not sure what to make of that. No linkable source.

If the Habs had such a centre, I can assure you they'd be in no hurry to move him.

There was a subtle point wrapped up in my sarcasm, It's one thing to know what you want, but it's another thing to get it. "Sutter" type players are gold - they won't come cheap (if they're available at all). As time goes on (or if the injury bug strikes) the Flames just might have to lower their sights and get a less than ideal rental player. Note: I'm not suggesting that player is Yanic Perreault

Well, that describes pretty well the whole roster. So why the hell would Calgary want a piece of crap like Perreault who is the antithesis of what Sutter has built in Calgary? Think people, think!!!

Read people Read!!!! My post directly above yours:

"Note: I'm not suggesting that player is Yanic Perreault" - As unambiguous a statement as you can get (on the Flames and Yanic).

Make nothing out of it. The Flyers aren't going to trade their possible MVP for Gauthier and Turek. Turek is useless to the Flyers, and while Gauthier is a nice player, in doesn't make any sense for the Flyers to aquire him for Primeau.

Deadmarsh's salary isn't covered by insurance, since the injury happened last year and he signed a new deal in the offseason.
Allison's has kicked in and that money was spent on Straka.

The first post in this thread really puzzled me. Are the King's trying to collect on a different policy?

Please lord let Kolzig come to Ottawa, the caps can take Lalemon off our hands in part of the package (he makes much less).

Do you have a source for this?

I find it hard to believe that Isles were offered a "good deal" for Parrish, given that Parrish is out with an injury and was not productive for most of the season. I'd guess that most GMs are not willing to pay a price for that player at the present time.

The Kings "rumor" is totally erroneous... They don't have a policy that would cover Deader and Ally's is covered 75%... no insurance company EVER covers 100% of anyone's contract (in ANY sport).

erase "9)" from your thoughts... it didn't happen... along with most of 1) through 8)...

In fact, I'm pretty sure that the insurance company picks up none of Deader's contract, since it was signed when he was injured. Allison's contract was signed when he was healthy and thus, insurance picks up whatever they are on the hook for.

spooky premonition: if the Sens trade Lalime + for Kolzig, they will not make the 3rd round. and the Caps will laugh for the next 5 years. don't know why i feel that way, just a gut feeling.

okay----take your shots
This is an old story, and Parish is still out, so he will not be moved over the all-star break. Could be something will happen by the deadline, but he's not due back until the first week of March.

Now, I don't want to contadict that 5 minutes you had with big George, but he said in yet another column of his that he actually meant what you heard about him not fighting ever again if he was traded. The quote was "I'm going to finish my two years contract and then retire". It went on about hockey not being the only thing in life and pursuing a lawyer career. Now, I respect George, but I would never ever move the guy out of Edmonton. His brother is going to live there to be close to him, for heaven's sake. He's dead serious.

*LOL*

and who do you think you are?

how do you call Perrault a piece of crap?

his face-off prowess alone makes him a good commodity

so he is not wanted in Calgary, so some say here, regardless he will be wanted somewhere

How do I call Perreault a piece of crap? Simple. I put my fingers on the keyboard and I type the words in. Here, like this.

"Yanic Perreault is a piece of crap."

See how easy it is?

So because Perrealut can win a faceoff teams are going to look past his brutal defensive play, his complete lack of back bone when the going gets physical and his inability to keep up with fast skating teams? Oh, and lets not forget about that really big price tag that he comes with. That might scare off just more than a few suitors.

Seriously, the only way you're going to get anyone to bite on Perreault at all is if the Canadiens can come up with some sort of bungee cord system that is attached to Perreault and the bench, and is activated the minute a draw is won. Puck is dropped, some wins possession, BOIIIIIING!!!, Perreault is safe and sound on the bench and replaced by a hockey player. The Habs come up with that system then I'm sure there might be a few teams interested in those golden faceoff hands. Beyond that, not a chance in hell. The guy is a liability in every other aspect of the game.

If Calgary wants a faceoff specialist, they'd be better off going after Kevyn Adams or someone like that. Cheaper, easier to attain, and plays a WAY better defensive game.

Perreault is simply not the answer in Calgary.

Don't let Lanny get to you, he is pretty biast when it comes to the flames You should see him on the Oilers board!

A while ago we were having some polls to rank our prospects and he came on and lowballed every propsect to throw off the average.

You get used to him and just tune him out after a while, or, there is always your ignore list

All that being said, I do think Perrault is a bit overpriced, but hardly a piece of crap. He will be a valued pickup for a team making a cup run. Even if it is only for his face-off abilities.

Yanic is in the final year of his contract that pays him 2.8 million per season. With 68% of the season down the tubes, that means that the team that picks up Perreault would be on the hook for roughly $900,000. Not a "real big" price to pay if you like what he brings to the table.

That said, i've never considered Perreault to be a good fit for the Flames. However i do see both Jan Bulis and Niklas Sundstrom potentially being of interest to the Flames.

9)LA tried to get a doctor to say that both Allison's and Deadmarsh's careers are over--so that the insurance company could make a deal to pay out their contracts--Three doctors said that they could come back still--maybe

Oh that is just f'in terrific. They can't play, have no chance of coming back and we are trying to sneak around to get insurance money back.

Quit fiddle f@#ing around with Allison and Deadmarsh, DT, and get us another defenseman.
