It's an ok selection I suppose, but I have a feeling that if he didn't finish the year strong he wouldn't have been selected. Media have a short-term memory. I personally would've selected Komi or Hammer

I'm a huge Streit Fan, but I would have given it to Gorges.

People shat in Gorges mouth his first half of season where he didn't play so well. And some people talk of short term memory...

Does it increase the value of his new contract to your opinion ??

I don't understand this selection at all. It would have been like giving it to Souray last year for what he has accomplished on the power play. Sure he played Forward and defense but Komisarek is the guy who should have won it ... Block shots, body check, his maturity this year is what make the defense look stronger.

Bravo.

(Psst... shouldn't winning the trophy automatically preclude you from winning it again)..

Only little impact I think... a Stanley Cup ring would have more. Or a Bill Masterton Trophy.

If Hamrlik wasn't making 5.5m and was our primary UFA signing of the summer, I'd vote for him.
